I love jennys white too, i`ve not found anyone yet who dosen`t :rotfl:
In a couple of days i shall get around to bottling the parsnip which will free up another demijohn. I tried a couple of the reds with different juices and we wern`t keen. As you said they are ore like a rose and i`m predominantly a white drinker as is DH.
I`m really looking forwards to the rosehip one as i love sherryIf that turns out well i can see quite a lot of it being made, will start small though and see how i go

I've never tried parsnip wine - what does it look and taste like - and how do you make it?0

I`ll try and remember to dig the recipe out when i`m at home, it was in a book called a drop o wine by Mollie Harris that i got recently after reading about it on one of the boards.
I`ve never made it before and not tried it yet so fingers crossed

Hi,
Can anyone recommend a dry white wine for cooking that isn't too expensive, I know next to nothing about wine, but have a lovely recipe I want to try this week, but I need dry white wine in it!
Thanks0 -
Depending on how much wine you actually need I often buy the miniatures which are nearly always on offer 2 for £3 ( saves buying a full bottle then it going to waste ). I think it works out a miniature bottle is a large glass. If you need more than that I can't help you I'm afraid as I'm not a drinker of white wine!Going to get to grips with food shopping again, starting February!

There is the rule that you shouldn't cook with anything you wouldn't drink, but I've found that there's not much of a difference between using a glass of wine from a £10 bottle and one from a £3 bottle. Just get whatever is on cheap at your local supermarket / booze emporium.0

what is it you are cooking? Don't use anything too cheap as any nasty falvour in the wine will infleuence the finished meal,,, Personally I hate oaked wines so would aboud that, otherwise a miniture bottle is a good idea from an economy point of view.0

I'd use one of those mini bottles... a dry one probably, though it depends on the recipe of course. To be honest I just sling in whatever there is... who cares what it's called!June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500

I use Sainsburys basics Spanish White Wine and find it perfect in my paella.

I use a cheap box wine, the type with a valve on. I throw the box away and keep the bag of wine in the bottom drawer of my fridge and just splash it into dishes as needed..... which is quite often! :whistle:If you feel my comments are helpful then I'd love it if you 'Thanked' me!0
