Yes, you can tumble dry. I usually hang fleece blankets over the door to air dry overnight.
I take it you leave the door open when you hang clothes over the top.
I always thought you supposed to close all of your doors at night to help prevent spread of fire god forbid it should ever happen?
Or do you mean the tumble drier door?0 -
I love those radiator airer things and use then all ove the place.
I hang them from the curtain rails in my back bedroom and then hang the washing on coat hangers so you can get loads on sideways IWSMIM.... like a wardrobe.
Open the windows when chucking it down and clothes dry really quickly because of the air and breeze coming in.
Managed all of the last couple of wet summers like that!
Come to think of it, I many have got that tip from this thread back when it started.......!0 -

Never gave the fire risk a second thaught to be honest and I've never closed doors unless it is winter and then I only close the passage door for the draught from the stairs. I often have quilt covers and large items hanging over the doors because this house doesn't have a banister.0 -
I think I'll invest in one of these next time I'm at Ikea, either to go over the radiator or hooked on top of a door.

I think this is the hanging airer that sassyblue mentioned:

I have ceiling fans in my lounge and bedroom. If I have a load of washing to dry I set it up on the airers in the lounge (if going to bed) and in the bedroom (if during the day). Put the ceiling fan on high speed and your washing is dry in a few hours or so...
Ceiling fan uses about 40watts in high speed so very very cheap and no running outdoors when it rains! If you found my post helpful, please remember to press the THANKS button! --->0 -
In the winter I dry our clothes on the radiators around the house, but it's not cold enough to put the heating on yet, I have a clothes horse in the kitchen, but it seems like my clothes are taking DAYS to dry...what do you do?Annual Grocery Budget £364.00/£1500

i hang them everywhere, clothes horse doors, the landing stair case. Shirts just put them on a hanger and leave them.
My house regularly looks like a laundrette.0
