I think there's a danger that over time, any moisture evaporating from your clothes might cause damp to ruin other things that are in your office such as paper files and books. You could also make yourself susceptible to bronchitis, etc breathing in damp air.
What works well for me is having a retractable washing line fixed up over my bath where I hang damp washing, with a small window open and the door ajar. This gets a draught of air moving through, and with the combination of a radiator in there heating up morning and evening, laundry dries fairly quickly.0 -
If you are working from home all day why don't you hang your washing outside on dry mornings? You are at home to take it in if it rains :-)Downshifted

Hi
I'd like to hang my washing out but I live in a 1st floor flat and don't have a garden.
I have my computer on overnight and it drys the washing when the living room door is closed. The clothes need to be well spun out and they are hung on a clothes horse.
Re: overheating- my computer has got four fans and it has never overheated. All computer's produce heat/warmth. May as well use it.:)Sealed Pot Challenge No 089-Finally got a signature.:rotfl::j0 -
i would be inclined to open the window to let some fresh air in as you will eventually over time end up with a damp roomI am a stay at home mum with a passion for life and all things crafty:xmastree::santa2::xmastree:0

I wouldn't want my computer to share a room with wet washing. Moisture + delicate circuitry = bad0

Hi ikennett,
As your thread has dropped down the Old Style board I've added it to the existing thread on drying washing indoors where you may find some more advice.

I have just ordered a Rotaire after seeing one at the Centre For Alternative Technology! It was £38 but I can see I will get that back quite quickly.
Otherwise I use the conservatory which gets boiling at times, the airing cupboard (harvesting all that heat that comes from the, lagged, boiler) and sometimes overnight i will put a clothes horse in the lounge which retains heat better than any other room.
Must confess though that today i used the TD as there was so much and it is pouring hard here. Was the first time since the beginning of August though and once I get the Rotaire shouldn't be needed much at all.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -

Will you report back on it when you've tried it in the rain? I want to get one, but it's going to have to wait until next pay day (or even the one after).0 -

There are LOADS of reports already on this site. I have one and use it all the time in the rain. Just search for 'rotaire' and you'll see how many people are using them.I was born too late, into a world that doesn't care
