I also dry clothes on hangers in the small utility room, t.shirts and trousers mainly. In the stairs/hall inlet I have a clothes airer.
The TD I am carefull to use on a few occasions as it is plug in and uses the electric. I had it on once this week to dry some sheets for an hour and then aired when damp over a door.
I've had two loads of washing out there today too! When I got them in at 3pm they were nearly dry, so I've put it all on an airer in the kitchen as that will be the warmest room once the oven goes on in a bit! Its the first time this year!:j0 -
We've had a gazebo set up in our garden all summer, and I've just discovered that the stem of our Hills Hoist whirligig washing line fits into one of those heavy cast iron sun umbrella bases.
So now I can simply pick up the whirligig with all the washing on it, and insert it into the umbrella base under the gazebo if it starts to rain, or alternatively set up the whirligig in the umbrella base under the gazebo and know that whatever the weather, it will be protected from the rain or passing showers.0 -
Watch it doesn't all blow away in the wind, its really strong here in London... but a good idea... I just ran out and got mine in before the 'shower' got too heavy....... now I have a pile of ironing siggggghhhhhh!!!#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

Luckily it's anchored with some heavy gazebo foot weights around the base poles but thanks for the warning.0

Good idea. Last week I was passing a house where they had a cover specially for the washing line. It was obviously done because of pigeon poo from nearby trees but I thought it a good idea. I've been in and out all day too.0

My friend has a line strung up under her gazebo and hangs her stuff there then finishes it off in the dryer.“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0

I was thinking of inventing a rotary washing line with a "canpoy" over the top - dragons den anyone? Along with an umbrella that somehow fits onto a pram so Mums don't either have to struggle one handed with umbrella and pram or get soaking wet. I think I missed my vocation...So, there are these boys,
They kinda stole my heart,
They call me Mummy

I can't believe what I am seeing here..
The wind has been so strong that the green plastic cover on the folded up windy drier, is actually being split and shredded as I watch.
It has almost fallen all the way off now.:(Felines are my favourite
