I've just had a relatively successful shop at Glasgow's Sauchiehall Street Branch. Well if you can call it successful - I only went in to get weighed. Next time I am going to go in the back door and run back out again afterwards with out having a look around.

Anyway, back to my purchases (sorry about the long story - I never was good at getting straight to the point!!!).

As I was walking past the perfume counters I noticed a stand with about forty million Britney Speirs Perfume sets on it (okay a bit exagerated) with a sign saying now reduced to From £10.

I didn't really want any of them but sitting alongside them were three of the Smiley Gift Set Boxes.

I had no idea how much they were meant to be and couldn't remember who had seen them recently or how much they had paid but I knew even if it was £10.00 it was still a relatively good deal so I took it over to get it price checked.

The SA scanned it and said it was reduced to £29.99. Reduced - that didn't seem very much of a saving to me - or was it? Anyway, I replied that I assumed it would have been cheaper than that as it was on that stand. The young man SA standing beside her said "that's right - all perfumes on that stand are £10.00". I could have kissed him. I said that's good I'll take one but I've got another couple of things to get too.

As I was buying something else I decided to try the No.17 glitch again (this glitch definately doesn't like me. I've tried it twice already and it bleeped both times). Anyway, I'm digressing again - sorry. I took a lip liner, lip glaze and GWP and decided to pay the pharmacy counter. I needed to get ibruprofen as well.

Anyway, the nice young girl rung everything up and asked for £41.??? I nearly had a fit. I said that's a lot more than I was expecting. I did mention that the perfume set was now only £10 and the till had beeped again with the lip glaze coupon. Unfortunately she couldn't overwrite the till and would need to get a supervisor. I thought "bang goes my GWP again".

The lovely Supervisor came over and agreed the perfume was only £10.00 and said, yes I was still entitled to the GWP as the No.17 products did add up to more than £5 (I wonder if she noticed my jaw dropping to the floor at this remark). The girl had also put the wrong Ibruprofen box in the bag - the shelf had been filled incorrectly so she had given me ones that weren't included in the Health Club discounts. The Supervisor also changed these over and apologised to me for my wait and then let the girl finish off what she was doing. When my bill came to £11.44 I was confused. I know I expected it to be a lot less than £44 whatever but I thought this was a bit too cheap but the girl said "it must be right - the supervisor did it!!!" So needless to say I was happy.

Long and short of it was the Smiley Perfume did in fact have a "save" on it - it was a third off. That was probably why the other SA had originally told me it was reduced to £29.99. Was it maybe £44.99 in the first place?

I ended up only paying £6.66 for it, £2.99 for my painkillers and £1.79 for my three NO.17 things.

I was well chuffed with my shopping.

There were another three Smiley Gift Sets on the shelf if anyone wants one.

Sorry if I've rabbited on again - I really must get out more!!!

    Hi
    You did well!!

I got a smiley box too in the Fort. It was priced at £10 but got it for £6.66. I really like the smell!! St Enochs had other Smiley stuff reduced the other day- a deodorant and 2 diff sizes of the perfume but it was not as cheap as the box(from memory the perfume was £12 and £16 for 30 and 50 ml approx and the deo was £5) I like S St for bargains.
I think the perfume box was £44.99 originally.
    RE PERFUME
Heres a weird thing- when I want a perfume I try it out every opportunity(in Boots, Frasers etc) on my skin and I can smell it really well. Once I buy it and use it (even the first time) I cant smell it any more!!!!!

You might be right!!!! They sell testers on Ebay so might think about getting one for something I dont have and really want.

I do like strong perfume and spray a lot on anyway.

Have you tried the Smiley one? I think it smells of something familiar and herbal related but cant put my finger on it. Does it make me feel happy?? Yes maybe! but not as happy as shopping!!!!!

Sorry if this is a daft question but I looked on .com and I couldn't find an answer...If you use the current £2 voucher to buy something for more than £2, can you pay the remainder of the cost in points, or does it have to be cash?

Vanda2, There was one in January for £5 off various skincare ranges, not sure about previous ones though as I have't been Bootsing that long.

If anyone hasn't yet had Med soap vouchers, check the ACM. DD got some for the first time today.

Before the haircare voucher there was a £5 No7 voucher when you spend £20. This worked out brilliantly for some people who had the Parenting Club voucher £5 off when you spend £20 as you could use the 2 and get the pink jewelry box GWP which you got for a £20 spend whilst only paying £10!

The other glitch with this voucher was that you could get the No7 highlights illuminating powder (worth £10.25) and other No7 goods to get the total to £20 to get your pink GWP box. You could then hand over the £5 No7 voucher, the £5 (when you spend £20) Parenting Club voucher and then in the previous magazine there was a voucher to get the highlight powder free with a No7 voucher!

    I.E. I got these
    No7 Highlight powder £10.25
    No7 Hand saviour £10.50
    Pink No7 GWP FREE

Gave these vouchers: £5 voucher, £5 (on £20 spend) PC voucher and magazine free highlights powder voucher

PAID 50p for it all. In fact I also had a 200 points on No7 cosmetics from a Xmas set so they gave 200 points for this too.

That's defo been my best Boots transaction so far!
