my friend went in just an hour ago,....and she got the gwp by buying 3 roc wipes...no need to overide till or anything(how do you explain that?)
do you reckon its till dependent? ie: different tills may let you have it?
ps: i have NEVER seen any MF gifts in Reading. i needed to buy a mascara 2 weeks ago,..and bought MF mascara, coz they came with a free liner..was hoping that they'll get the gwp in, but no such luck. have you seen them in rdg before?
That is odd on the gwp, perhaps they programmed it in the tills since we went? I was in there before noon. I will just have to ask someone what the spend is, and if it doesn't let me have the gwp when I've spent enough, I'll stand my ground!
On the MF GWP, a couple of months ago I saw a single one on a shelf in the back corner of the store in the MF section. There was no sign about what you had to buy to get one or any mention of it being a gwp. I check every now and then as I've got that £2 off MF coupon and might buy some MF if there were a free gift, but they never have any! It's really odd that in other stores they are replenishing the gwp displays, and here they basically never had any.0 -
Had an awfull lot of problems getting one of those dinky little photo albums for my coupons, but managed to get them yesterday in Walsall. Why is it the West Midlans dont seem to have any good stuff? Anyway, if any one is having the same problems I have one to spare, it is the lilac one, and I would be happy to post it out to you today. PM me with your details. Also does anyone have either a Olay or Roc coupons they wont be using please? Missed out of the Roc bag in the mail, somehow????
I used my pc voucher and acm voucher on my mini photo album, but i didn't get the bogof that time, at the photo till. That was in walsall the big boots.
As you hear many time probably was the till / sa you know boots!0 -
I think MSE andrea is just being cautious to be fair.
This is martins site afterall, and i'm sure nobody would like to see him get into trouble and for this site to be gone.
I personaly don't see the problem with getting GWP free etc, but because we don't follow the t&c's most of the time maybe martins site would be seen as encouraging people to be a little bit naught iykwim because lets face it girls we do know boots HO frequent this threadI heart The Capital0 -
Afternoon all,
Feeling a little to blame here reading through this afternoons posts, have only been bootsing since Jan as i have said previously used to get my toiletries an stuff from quality save an the like but since Jan am now addicted to boots to the point of driving people mad (lol u know whats its like girls, that buzz when u get summit cheap or 4 nowt is even better) i would never go in an not buy nothing so the way i see it (an maybe boots) is they have gained a loyal customer in me the gwp's have been going on longer than i have been here but since i mentioned i got 2 Roc bags yesterday seems have brought out the complaints?? sorry if i offened any1 but i was pretty chuffed to have found a glitch an i'm not ashamed to say so no doubt i will be flamed but i will not stop coming here to find out whats happening in Boots and if i find a goodie myself i will share no probs, if you don't want to take advantage yourself then don't.....as has been mentioned before Boots do read this thread an if there's something they're not happy with tills get changed or things "dissapear" off shelves till they work out what to do with them,
Just my opinion

It would work in their favour to make it clearer: People might be tempted to spend a few extra quid to put them over spend threshold if it was clear what required spend was. Sometimes you presume it's a high amount, when it's sometimes not that much.
We'd be no good shopping together would we?:rotfl:
The signs up here are relatively clear Jelly Tots, apart from the one for S&G bags
But honestly, if anyone was stopped in Boots because of the GWP issue, I doubt they'd post about it on these threads
Boots make a fortune from the glitches like Sally06 (?) found. How many of us bought things we'd never normally buy, (apart from the 25p wipe lol) during that particular offer? Boots have a very astute marketing machine going on imo, and are quite happy to let users find their way around how the vouchers work. (Not that I've sussed that one yet)
The Med soap was a good example.
No-one can tell me that Boots didn't suddenly notice a boost in sales of their Med soaps and wonder why? And even though it ran for a day or so longer than I expected, I still reckon it was a glitch they were prepared to overlook.
The items I tend to look out for are the larger ones. There's a limit to even Boot's warehouses, so I'd imagine they want rid of these as quickly as possible - like the S&G sets and now, the Ruby Wax items.
Since I haven't had my advantage cardlol, I've had time to think about what I'm actually spending in Boots, and basically, it's too much!

There is a stand with all the left over GWPs on it at one of my local Boots. On it are home printed cards saying "Free GWP if you buy Olay (or Roc, on the Roc pile, or L'Oreal on the L'Oreal pile) in the 342 Skincare Promotion."
Now whether that means buy three of the appropriate brand product to get 342 and a GWP or buy one of the product that matches the GWP you'd like as part of the 342 is anyone's guess. Also, no mention of a minimum spend. Or indeed as to whether it has to be a specific range within the brand to match the GWP. The sign is, indeed, not useful. If in doubt, ask one of the senior SA's..which is what I did. She didn't know either! But the stand was right next to her till, and she was keeping a very close eye on it, trust me.Val.0 -

Exactly! I got a survey last week, and when asked what I would like to see improved, it's that sale and clearance items be clearly marked as quite often I only find out something's on sale when it rings up! How many other items might I have bought if I had known they were on sale? How fast would clearance move if it were properly signed -- as in the case of super-cheap NO7 nail sets that only MSE readers knew were on sale! (though I didn't mention that in the survey, lol)
Part of what's good about Boots is also part of what sucks: Sometimes their disorganization benefits bargain hunters. But then if the till beeps when you're trying to get a gwp when buying the required items or using a coupon exactly following T&C, the SAs may deny you the deal because they don't know what to do if the till won't take it. I guess you can't have your cake and eat it, too.0 -

I guess you can't have your cake and eat it, too.
But it might look to whoever the Boots 'watcher' isthat some people can have the cake, eat it, and then think they've bought the Bakery!
