  • Sounds like it could be someone pressing 3 after using 1471?

BT introduced a charge for this in August I think.
  • doh i thought it would be something that sinple!! simple even, thanks :)
  • This was another of BT's concealed price rises which Martin warned about in his e-mail of 22 July 2004.

    It took effect from 1/8/04.

  • Maybe not you but someone else in the house? It means that if you come home and find someone has called you and you press 3 after the 1471 to ring them back there is an extra charge via BT.
  • thought id been very good about not using these services after they started chargin for them but must have done it without even thinking a few times, well 8 times it says on the bill and recent calls :-[

Unfortunately, it's easily done (as BT obviously realised it would be - and much to their delight, I suspect).

All 1471_3  calls are charged at 6p per call .It dosent matter if you are connected ,or get the engaged tone its still 6p .
But worse is getting the engaged tone and then pressing 5 to get ringback ,the cost is 15p..

i have a caller display unit that will dial the last number ( or last 100 numbers ) at no charge .
