Some good news ... was sat in the tube going home just now, doing the Sudoku in the free afternoon paper.... finished it .... looked across and the guy opposite was holding the other free paper with the front page headline BASE RATES TO FALL BY 2% OVER NEXT 18 MONTHS!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I was well chuffed!
Reckon it'll happen though? Cant find it now but on another thread theres a link to a report that rates cant be cut cos it'll make no difference to mortgages and raiseb inflation even higher

I had decided to ignore the comment, but for the record. I am a law abiding person and heaven help us if that is a bad thing.
As for a "pot to piddle in" - I'm doing very well thanks. Is it not you panicking about an 8% interest rate........
People breaking the mould is a fantastic thing - if they do it in a lawful way. What I dislike is people thinking it is somehow clever to try and do the system. It's not - but you'll learn that when you grow up.

Generally speaking, I agree with you, but there is legal, and moral. I dont have a problem with legal/illegal ( as long as I dont get caught) what I have a problem with is immoral. You can do things hugely immoral, but still be within the law and to me that is more wrong. Anyway, as pointed out Im not doing anything wrong, if someone wants to pay me for a job I dont actually do that isn't illegal!

As for 'I'll learn' well Ive learnt that my mum went from single parent of 2, no money, absolutely brassic and crying over whether to cut off gas or elec first, and 20 years later to having a successful property company and she did this through shrewd money management and a bit of duckin and diving, got a few compo claims (she broke her ankle at home falling over, and instead of going to hospital, went to work and recreated the fall beside a pot hole in the car park) she's profited a lot through other people's negligence and then invested the money very well, and if my mortgage company are negligent in doing proper checks on me then I'm happy to profit from it.

Neither was what was said to me, but at least my comment was a reaction and not made out of the blue for no apparent reason

Sorry, what comment? He pointed out the difference between a sales environment and a fraudulent practise. Your estate agents are filth, not to be emulated. There is nothing to be proud of in fraudulent activity. One of the great failings of the UK over the last 20 years is the number of people who believe that any lie and fraud is fine if you can get away with it. Then we wounder why society is breaking down.

Not my estate agents, only worked there a few weeks, but that is the kind of practice going on all the time. When I was selling my last property thev EA was happy to take a back hander in order to promote my house the best and my mums surveyor is always happy to take a back hander to find fault with the house so she can knock money loads off price. And dont even get me started on how many workmen have offered a lower price for cash whilst Ive been renovating.

Bottom line is the UK isnt cheap and people are struggling and I dont blame people if they tell the odd white lie to stay afloat so long as no one is hurt

What like that'll make them any more efficient :rotfl: I run rings around my lenders, they ended up paying £1,200 in costs because their incompetency delayed completion on my house. Really they should have responded by saying conveyancing was to blame for exchanghing and completing on same day and giving me a completion date but the daft !!!!!!s paid up, it only took a few clever letters and an Ombudsman comnplaint. Thought it'd be a lot harder than it was!

I forgot to send my insurance details so they slapped £60 on my account for emergency insurance, I wrote saying I never received a letter requesting the document and would theyv kindly provide proof of posting. ha ha ha. I knew they wouldn;t have it, they're soooo stupid. The cause? Recruiting people with 3 GCSE's on £9,000 a year and managers aged 20, promoted way beyong their capabilities

I find this kind of attitude truly disgusting, and firmly believe in karma.
  • Ah Im just making all this up to ruffle your feathers :T

And my mum may be a qualified lawyer but she stopped practicing years ago so wouldnt matter anyway, plus my mother as the Queen of 'ducking and diving bobbing and weaving' as puts it.

As for my IP, Im piggy backing an unsecured WIFI access so would be pretty hard to find me
Also an offence, is there any reason why you are using this thread as a confessional?:rotfl:
