Eh? what an honest adviser you're going to make.

No wonder the business gets such a bad reputation.

Any industry thats cut throat, sales driven, competitive etc is not particularly honest, sweeping generalisation I know but its true, it has a reputation because a lot of people work for commission. I'd be a very good adviser actually - do as I say, not as I do :rotfl:

There is a world of difference between a "cut throat, sales driven" industry and a fraudulent one.

Are you hideously naive? These things have and do go on daily, eg I worked at an estate agents last year for a brief period in an area full of old people, they have a scam going to undervalue houses in need of modernisation and then buy it themselves (using wifes names, or friends, other employee....) refurb it and then sell it again at a high price, as well as selling it on their own books without disclosing a vested interest and giving it more PR than the other properties.

Im guessing you're a good little law abiding citizen without a pot to piddle it, paying your taxes for Mr Speakers wifes taxi bills and resenting anyone who breaks the mould and does well for themselves? Id hardly call falsifying an income in June, when actually I wont get it til July a crime worthy or such attention.

OMG! That's horrible! I hope you reported them; certainly is criminal.

From what you've said, you didn't falsify an income as you DID get paid by your mum's firm. Whether you actually did the work was another matter entirely - fact of life in the public sector LOL!
Please be careful not to misrepresent yourself.

Neither was what was said to me, but at least my comment was a reaction and not made out of the blue for no apparent reason

I had decided to ignore the comment, but for the record. I am a law abiding person and heaven help us if that is a bad thing.
As for a "pot to piddle in" - I'm doing very well thanks. Is it not you panicking about an 8% interest rate........
People breaking the mould is a fantastic thing - if they do it in a lawful way. What I dislike is people thinking it is somehow clever to try and do the system. It's not - but you'll learn that when you grow up.

    I was well chuffed!
