Whats rag pudding??
I have never made them, but it is a northern thing I think. It is a sort of pastry made from suet (i think) and it is filled with mincemeat and onions and then wrapped in rags / or a teatowel and secured with safety pins. You then boil it for about 2 and half hours.
They are absolutely delish. I am sure someone will have a recipe or a better explaination than me
edit: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rag_Pudding here they are!0 -

Oh Dear, have been home almost a week and still not got a proper meal plan sorted. Can't seem to get my a*$e into gear on this one! Help!
Have made an effort to do a few things round the funny bits and pieces kicking around... 2 odd little bits of pastry have made a quiche. Rather dry looking parmesan lump which has come uncovered will go unnoticed in risotto and saag aloo which has been in the freezer since Christmas got used up, along with stashed veg curry and ancient naan, from before I started to make my own.
SOmeone started a thread about the satisfaction of using something up, whether lurking food or the dregs of the shampoo bottle."Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"
