I didn't realise you had the monopoly on taking the P, I thought anyone could join in. Anyhow I hope in future you take id when you want to buy alcohol, it will save you a lot of stress and disappointment.

I think you've assumed I'm assuming Grayme!

Although in the UK there are no clear population guidelines regarding the geographical definition of a town (it's more defined by whether or not the location has a town council, a village will be a parish) but there are very few towns with populations of much less than say 2000/3000. The unknown town the op lives in indeed also has a Tesco & a co-op it seems so it would suggest it's not at the extreme smaller end of the definition of a town.

Now I'm fairly confident to say that I don't think I'm assuming the op's "town" has a population small enough for everyone to actually know each other.
