Someone has Used My Photos

Obviously everyone has their personal opinion about this one. I was annoyed when someone recently nicked my photo and description word for word. It's a common courtesy apart from anything to ask if you want to borrow something so why should online be any different? If they had emailed me and asked me I would have said ok to use photo but alter text and details as they were obviously selling their item in competition with mine! Also some people make their living from Ebay, why should they subsidise others who are too lazy or rude to create their own listings?0

I'm sorry to admit but when I'm selling a book I look around for someone who has put the full blurb from the back of the same book into their auction and I copy and paste it. Saves me time typing out exactly the same thing. I do, however, change layout, colours etc. I'm only copying what they are copying.:j little fire cracker born 5th November 2012 :j0

Same here i will copy the description and maybe use the photo as I list lots of items and I dont have the time to be writing multiple descriptions and taking photos then uploading them to my pc as it makes selling loads of items an ordeal.
I will change colours and text size etc so it is not the smae and change some words
At the end of the day it saves a lot of time if you sell loads of stuff on ebay0 -
if i'm selling books or cd's i'll use something like Amazon to copy the text.
at least its more accurate.0 -
Only happened to me the once, I spent ages writing a description of my guitar, including how long I had owned it etc. A couple of days later when keeping an eye on the competition my description appeared in another listing, word for word, with only the colour changed.
I jokingly e-mailed the seller requesting a % commision on his sale, only to get a rather rude denial in return.
Despite his being in a very nice custom finish, mine made £40 more, so maybe the punters are not so stupid, and had read both descriptions and decided who they would rather do business with.0
