  • To be honest, I think that is how I will be, I have been planning this wedding now since january, and where we have'nt got much money I have been shopping around for everything, so it is going to be weird not having to do that but I'm sure at the same time the kids will keep me busy and I have already started on the xmas shopping, have to start early with my hoard.

  • Hi all

Well today is my last day at work and the nerves and finally kicking in, i have been laid back  so far but now it is sinking in that it really is this saturday - where has all the time gone?

I still have loads to sort out, only small things but still have to do them. i don't think i will have time, list of things i can remember need doing -

    Buy curling tongues
Get picture frame (for the star i had named for us)
    get banquet roll
get chocolate to add to the mens gifts (the girls have more so need to fill the mens boxes somehow:rotfl: )
    get waterproof mascara
all the above to be done on my 1 hour lunch break

    Wedding rehearsal tonight
wash clothes for honeymoon tonight and start packing
    Marquee is coming tomorrow morning
have nail appointment at 10.00 tomorrow
have body wrap at 2.15 tomorrow
    decorate marquee
    any last shopping
friday collect glasses from caterers at 9.30
meet my dad who fly's in fri morning
    continue decorating marquee, house etc
pick up chocolate candy bouqets for mum's after 2pm
    finish favours
finish table plan (printed out just need to put on a board)
then decorate the working mens club ready for evening reception

So as you can see i don't have any time to waste and before i know it the day will be here.

I am most likely going to forget something but the important things are done so small things shouldn't matter to much :p

I keep checking the weather and saturday is supposed to be dry with sunny intervals for me so fingers crossed it stays that way ;)

Good luck to everyone else gettign married this month, i go on honeymoon monday so won't be back at work until 29th sept when everyone will have been married so best wishes for everyone and hope you have a fantastic day :j xx

  • I'm a tad annoyed but don't know if I'm being unreasonable...

My sister invited herself to be a bridesmaid... fine, I wasn't her bridesmaid and I chose her daughter and didn't really want her... But she bought her own dress... And I didn't want to upset her.... So fine...

I sent her invite with her boyfriend of the times name on it... They duly split up... (She has a 6month itch not a 7year one!) and she asked if she could bring her ex husband... Fine... He used to be in the family, I've known him 15 years, he's father of one of the bridesmaids... Fine...

So I was talking to her on the telephone the other night and I asked if he was coming, she got a little flustered and said he has got back together with his previous girlfriend and might not (But I kind of got the impression she hadn't even asked him) So I said fine, let me know by the end of the week because I can get a refund on his dinner or invite someone else... And she really flippantly said "Oh well if he can't come I'll just bring soandso" I said no, I didn't want her bringing just anyone to the meal... her argument was she's known him 7 years... My argument is I've met him twice... and our wedding meal is litterally relations and 2 of our closest friends (1 of whom is doing the photos and her husband is singing in the church) There are other family members I would of loved to invite to join us but we just don't have the budget and if her original (or 2nd choice) guest can't come I would invite my cousin who is also a friend and also cat sitting while we're on honeymoon.... Is that unreasonable of me or should I let her bring a guest so she's not on her own? (Although they're mostly her family too and her children will be there so she won't be totally alone...)

Wow that's long! Might start a new thread with it...

  • Well I'm nearly there, just five days to go now, I am still desperately looking for a cake topper, just can't find any of them little bride and grooms that I like, so I may just have to go without, am going to have one last look around on Monday then I think leave it, this week has been mental, my feet have not touch the ground and as a big result have lost weight :j :j :j so am well please about that.

Krystal, she was definatly being out of order but I see you have resolved things on the other thread anyway:D

Hope all of you brides getting married today, are having a great day, hopefully you will come back on and tell us about it.

Aaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh I am running out of time to do everything:eek:
  • Congratulations to these MSEers who got hitched yesterday and today, hurry up and bring us some pics!!!

I went for my hair and makeup trial today, was a bit dubious about the hair because the girl that did it was about 14 and only left college in May... But I'm really quite pleased!

And the makeup artist had the most fantastic sparkly green eyes... But I didn't think they would be very appropriate so stuck with the natural look with smokey eyes...

Now I just need to sort something for the back of the circlet... I had it on 10 mins and it was already starting to get uncomfortable!
