    Hiya peeps,

Really sick at the moment as the bl00dy cat has pee'd on the carpet again!! She is 16 but its really starting to get to me as the carpet in question goes though the whole of the downstairs so replacing it is out of the question.

Have cleaned it up the best I can and sprinkled on some bicarb, hope that works cant stand the thought of my house smelling of cat pee.

Any suggestions? Her litter tray is clean so I don't know why she is doing it?

    Ahhhhhgg!

Lenny, get some work done mate! How's the shed doing, made any progress?
Hey up Louise, isnt cat pee just the worst. We have 2 and one of them when pees just doesnt spot, he swamps! Its awful. But here are some tips for you and they are generally conisdered to be reliable. Cats wee for different reasons such as territory issues, sudden change of something in their environment and of course medical reasons. If he is peeing in just one area then it could be a territory issue. But when a cat pees you have to be wary not to clean it too much because if they cant smell anything in the spot where they normally pee they will pee there again. The trick would be to use something fairly neutral. Now we use a spray called feliway which is a hormone spray and I think it is designed to settle the cat down so they dont feel nervous. We use it and it appears to work, but our cat only pees when we go away and I think because he is a very nervous cats the cat sitter freaks him out. Hope this is of some help. Lenny

Oh Mrs S, Im sorry to hear that hubby has been caught speeding and I hope the fine is not too high. This may be of help if there are any obvious mistakes that you could exploit http://www.justiceforeveryone.co.uk/adam.htm Plus there maybe some more help here http://www.askthe.police.uk/content/Q210.htm

    Good luck Lenny x

Snaggles - is it definitely just a points/fine they are offering? Lots of forces offer the half day course instead of points. It costs (surprise, surprise) around £60 although the speed limit might be 37mph.

My sister's ex husband worked in car insurance and he once said that because so may people have 3 points now, that they don't slap a huge amount on the premiums. It's when it gets to 6 and up they add lots.

I'm not 100% sure as I've been lucky (so far!!!) with that kind of stuff, but do they not up the premium next time it is up for renewal??

Snags just remembered that OH has a device called ' Beat the Speedtrap' he bought it online. it fixes to the dash and beeps when it detects speed cameras etc. Not sure if it's legal though. Might be worth a google.

Hiya Lenny - I don't think he will want to bother trying to contest it tbh - even if he was certain he hadn't been speeding I don't think he would bother....lol.

Keren, I'm not sure yet because it's only the notice of impending prosecution that we have received. The half day course would be great, but I'm not sure you get that option around here.

Ellidee - his satnav beeps at him when he's approaching a speed camera, but he either didn't realise it was a 30 area (because he was going at 39 mph, I'm guessing he thought it was a 40 area), or it was a mobile one, which obviously you don't get any warning about.

Not sure about the insurance - hopefully they wont put it up until next renewal, because he has literally only just renewed it. But he's been norty so he'll just have to deal with the consequences, whatever they are. :o

snags... love the mag article! You guys look great!

Also when I got my point my insurance didn't actually change at all. They said that most insurers don't bother with 3 points. But if you've got more than 3 that's when they start lumping the premiums up.

you can ebay queen, although it might be a bit tight through the normal way.

Call the UKPA on 08705210410 to report it lost. A new urgent (same day) application costs £108 and must be made at a UKPA office but they'll be able to help if you've 6 weeks to go.

    (can you tell I'm AQA'ing?! ;) )
