I dont want to sound paranoid but has anyone had any problems with entering loads of competitions, each time you put name, address, passwords, emails DOBs etc. We are told all the time about ID fraud with our day to day rubbish but what happens to our details on the WWW???0
-
I've not had a problem as yet, but whenever anything potentially dodgy crops up everyone has been on the ball and pointed it out pretty quickly.
Not that it happens very often!!!
Happy comping!

I don't have a problem wth giving out details on the World Wide Web for competitions.
Most of the info is readily available online any way. Try Googling your name and you'll be amazed at the info that comes up!
I do however only give a PAYG mobile number out and not my home land line number.
Also i only use a certain password/username for competitions - i never use user names or passwords that i use for on-line banking etc.
Also watch which boxes you tick - i always opt out when it asks if you mind the info being given to selected other parties.
If you are in doubt, don't enter any competitions that you are dubious about.

I generally try to provide as few personal details as possible, and if I think I'm being asked for information that isn't necessary I will usually provide false details. For example, I certainly never give my real date of birth as this is often asked as a security question when accessing things like bank account etc.0
-
I always put a different Date of birth 10 instead of 11 or nov instead of oct etc that way if asked later i'm only one out and would say it was a typing error. But if these people want your details they will get them. I watched a program where they got hold of peoples birth certificates mothers maiden name etc all through information sites on the web.:EasterBun Everyone seems normal until you get to know them0
