Schizophrenia is interesting (though containdicated to hypnotherapy) in that when the person is in one personality they might have an allergy to something but when in the other person mode the allergy is gone. This really makes administering drugs fun.Who I am is not important. What I do is.0 -
Do you give credence to Jung's theories about our multiple personalities?Aim for the stars, you may hit the moon:happyhear0

to be clear, schizophrenia is entirely different from multiple personality disorder.Keely0

I think Kali was referring to Jung's work on the human psyche. I've read some on this, it helped me to gain control.
Voices from outside are well documented as are our inner voices.
I found that in a quiet moment asking my inner selves what the problem was I was given direction. Remember, I was talking to myself
The answer often came in a dream or by ressurected memories. Not always comfortable, but working through the issues raised did give some sense as to why I was behaving in certain ways.
By addressing the issues thus raised I have got to know myself better and feel more generally centered and able to cope.
If anyone reading this wants to give it a go first get a good book on Jungian psycology and a Jungian dream interpretation book. This is messing with your own head but who has more right to do this than yourself?
It can be uplifting and mostly you only 'find out' what you already knew but had ignored before. Like I say, do the research and get the books. Going into this without a good map and compass won't be any use.
I totally agree with keelyjrs this is nothing to do with schizophrenia. It's about the different people we are inside anyway.

No hypnotherapist should do it unless your doc gives permission but if they suspect it is trauma related it is a good Idea to try and find the trauma. You may well not remember it as your concious mind does not kick in until you are about 6. It could be you were just experimenting with the razor and cutting yourself was a shock and trauma.

I find this really helpful too. I believe it is my guide or angel giving me direction. I ask for help to find things I have lost and very often feel a pulling sensation toward a particualr room or area and 9 times out of 10 I find the object... usually keys!
I also find meditating on a problem or decision gives me the clarity I need to make a decision or find the answer I need. This kind of thing has been around for centuries but recently has become trendy with the whole cosmic ordering service being written about... which is cool as many people are now opening up to new possibiliitesKeely0 -

I have no real belief system, I get great results finding things if I ask The Great God Anubis to help me. Is it outside or in? I don't mind one way or the other as long as it works. Think it's probably in though if pushed. Give me the placebo effect! just don't tell me else you'll spoil it
We are more powerful than we know. why is this not taught in schools? Because we're easier to handle if we are scared. No empowered being bows to anything.

i must say i feel really guilty for being depressed.
although i have had a pretty crappy life (being beaten by my dad & stepdad & being made homeless & having to live in a hostel are just a couple of things) it was not as bad as some other peoples so i feel really guilty that i am depressed and feel that i don't have a 'right' to be depressed as there are people worse off than me who are not depressed. (my friend who was sexually abused by her father for example) most of the time i feel like a freak for being the way i am as most of the time i domnt have a reason for feeling the way i doThe only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about - Oscar Wilde:beer:

i really don't feel that shopping and 'pampering' myself is going to cure me and to suggest that my depression is due to delf pity and can be cured with shopping is both offensive and irresponsible.
if it were that easy to get over depression everyone would be doing it and there would be no need for people to see doctors, phychatrists..etc..

With regards to teds post I think we kneed to know how chemicals turn into thought or how thought turns into chemicals. Food I think is too simplistic as plenty of people dont eat correctly and never get depressed while others do.Who I am is not important. What I do is.0
