Do you still have your order confirmation email - you can see what you ordered on there. Did you order any of these slices? Assuming Tesco's system works the same as ours(I shop for sainsbury's to you) you can only pick what the customer has ordered, unless you are subbing for something that's out of stock. It is possible for the customer to order incorrect quantities and not realise, mostly on weighed stuff eg they want 5 apples but forget to change the drop down box and end up ordering 5kg. It is also possible for the picker to have made mistake, but on our system if you put an incorrect quantity in the handset bleats at you and tells you it's wrong. I would be surprised if you had ordered that quantity by mistake as the cost would have been alot higher than you were expecting and you would have noticed when you submitted your order.

Well I've had this happen to me, and its been ok on screen, but after you receive the confirmation email the quantities have been wrong, and of course you can't prove that but I had a witness!

  • hi
i use tesco online because i live in london and my mum lives in yorkshire
so i send her some shopping now and again
last month they sent the wrong stuff to her 3 out of four times
the worst is when they do substitutions
i ordered2 packs of dog food 10kgs each they subbed it for two packs of dog food 8 kilos each
wheni complained they said it was a better food cost more so i would only get goods to the value not to the weight...
then the driver dropped someone elses order to her and god only knows where her stuff went
the only thing was my mum phoned me up and asked why i sent her 24 condoms . :rotfl:
no need to say that took some explaining
so i complained they said they would pass it to the online manager
i asked his name for reference like mugs they told me
so i put the phone down rang again and asked to speak to him
he gave me a refund and free delivery on my next order
and i can keep my reward points :rotfl:
  • ive had the odd problem with tescos delivery - wrong size nappies, substitutions for items not on offer BUT i never buy fresh food via the internet - i want to be there in the person to pick the nicest stuff

ive always phoned up the numbe ron the sheet too, and have had immediate refunds on the nappies (told to keep) and the refunds for substitutions when the replacements werent on offer

im quite happy to keep using tescos (you cant go far wrong ordering nappies, washing powder and canned foods) and using their voucher codes but wouldnt buy fresh
See the stars they’re shining bright
    Everything’s alright tonight

To be honest aren't there better things to do in life.

    And why does a thread have to go 2005, 2005, 2005, 2005, 2005.................2005 then 2008!

Although for anyone who has got this far and isn't aware, the 2008 delivery service allows you to choose to have your shopping delivered without carrier bags for which you earn extra green points as well! Now, where's that time machine I ordered...?
  • I was shopping at Tesco and the food was rotting on the Shelves I tried to complain to the Staff desk and was ingnored so I stood in the doorway and politely raised my voice to gain everyone's attention and then pointed out to all the customers that the food was rotting on the shelves and that the cost of goods was higher and the staff were very rude mannered. A Security person came to me and I pointed out the law of the land enabled freedom of speach as long as I was not in a larger group of personnel than 3 and thats what Servicemen have fought wars for. I also will never shop there again. I have also poined out to one Bank - Barclays that they charged me £23 for 50p overdraft and refused to refund to me - so I paid in £24 making sure that my account has .45p in it at all times and requested online that I would like statements each month and then after 3 months (as it costs the bank to send statements 95p) I complained to the head office about the treatment and closed my account, so it cost the bank more and they still lost a customer and I didn't have to pay a solicitor to get richer just to show the bank what I thought. I also did the same with Orange the mobile company as they poorly treated my fiance and gave an extra months charges for internet access cos it took there administration an extra day to transfer to our new providor - so I closed my mobile account and gladly gave it to O2 - and why because whenever I phoned Orange I got through to a service desk in Mumbai and no thte UK unlike O2. I am not a racist man, but basically I am proud of this country and think that the way to solve unemployment is to make sure that companies don't keep sourcing the work out to cheaper countries - so that our public cannot work as there is none available.

Well thats my whingeing done - people show the banks and service companies what you think of their service by searching for a better service with value for money

We wish to report an ongoing public health hazard at Tesco Metro Bethnal Green. Some weeks ago we saw that the frozen Turkeys were piled so high in the open-topped chest-type freezer that those at the top were soft to the touch and clearly defrosted (while those lower down were still frozen solid.) We sent a complaint to Tescos via their online Customer Services. They responded by saying that they would inform the Store of the problem. Yesterday we were in Tesco Metro Bethnal Green again, and yet again there were frozen Turkeys piled so high in the open-topped freezer that those at the top were soft to the touch and clearly defrosted. (we notice that other Stores eg. Lidl keep their poultry and meat in chest freezers with lids)

Our probems with defosted poultry goes back to the delivery by Tesco.com (sourced by the Bromley-by-Bow Branch) some months ago of frozen chicken pieces. When we defrosted these they smelt extremely bad and one piece had turned green. It it almost certain that these had defrosted, gone bad and were then refrozen. We had to discard them and informed Tesco online Customer Complaints that this was a serious risk to our health, but they responded by saying that they would check out the problem with the supplier in Eastern Europe. We never heard anything more about this, and no compensation or apology was ever offered in spite of the fact that our health was placed at risk.
  • That is not compensation - that is something yo have anyway.

Oh imagine it if you had something dodgy to eat.

"You weren't permanently disabled were you?"
    "no"
"well there you go - !!!!!! off!"

I am not sure that the person in this case deserves any compensation if no harm has to come them. But they certainly do deserve compensation if they have been sold foodstuffs in a way that is non compliant with the Food Safety Act. And the seller deserves to be investigated and, if necessary, prosecuted or have other action taken against them.
