Ugh! I bought this once for a rickety puppy and lets just say you know the cod liver oil is there.

Best bet is a health food shop or large chemist.

Ok, I was goin to make a mailt loaf this week but could'nt find any Malt extract in Tesco.com so I thought I would buy the Holicks.

Would Holicks be pure Malt Extract?

I'm sure we've had this before somewhere, possibly in the main breadmaking thread. I'll see if I can find it and will edit back in here if I do, so watch this space...

    Edit: malt extract sources

I'll give you chance to pop over and look and then I'll merge the two threads together.

Just looked on the other thread - out of all those recipes, did anyone manage to make a sticky Soreen type malt loaf? Sticky being the important word there for me.

    - and handed over a jar of Malt Extract with Cod Liver oil - to taste like Butterscotch.

    So I bought it.

Now that is spooky! I have done exactly the same thing today - the jar is sitting next to my new breadmaker ready to experiment at the weekend. I thought "Oh well, the codliver oil won't do any harm, probably won't even taste it" LOL. I'm still going to try it - will let you know what the family has to say about it (obviously I won't tell them what's in it  )

I think the closest I know of is one with three or even four times the amount of malt in it to those recipes quoted there.

The soreen recipe is top secret and I never found a site that claimed to be able to match it.
