hi
wondering if anyone can help, never used betfair before.
placed 3 win bets on the blue bit. . went into my account and it says under the matched bet , all my 3 horses. it says in the type of bed, that it is a back.
Does this mean that it is a normal bet and tnot that one that i will have to pay out if it looses.
sorry for being so dumb, just a bit worried.
thanks0 -

As far as I am aware this is a normal bet. Hope so anyway as I have done the same.0 -

How long did it take you to get through on the phone? I've tried twice this morning, and have been cut off after 6 minutes of hanging on. I don't have a credit card, or any type of ID that they require so I can't confirm my age.
I'm feeling really ripped off at the moment, because they have my £10 and I can't get it back or use it to bet!
I'm thoroughly annoyed now!
Betfair are far from perfect but you are trying to get them on the busiest day of the betting year so will need to be patient with them. The early bird gets the worm but the second mouse gets the cheese :cool:0 -

back bet is correct. lay bet is the one where you pay out if it winsThe early bird gets the worm but the second mouse gets the cheese :cool:0 -
Thanks Martin :T
I was a bit nervous about this initially, but am very pleased I took a chance on it. I now have £50 tracked in quidco, £25 refunded to me by betfair, and bets worth £25 (but costing nothing) laid on the geegee's.
If they all fall at the first hurdle, I've still made £50
If one of the horses makes it across the finish line first (probably won't happen but there's a 40% chance on of them will apparently - don't quote me on that though I don't really 'get' betting) I stand to make anything from a few quid up to two grand (yes I put a few quid on at 400-1 lol who cares it's not my money and stranger things have happened I'm sure!)
I'm off over to mums house in about an hour to show her how to do this tooI was considering asking if there was a way for either my mum or myself to benefit from a 'referral', but I figure I'll leave it and we'll follow the same tried and tested procedure I used. I don't want there to be any chance of messing things up by getting too greedy!
I tend to go on a bit, sorry, but one last thing:
I know some people will have issues with you advocating this in your email, maybe some people are on this site due to debts caused by gambling etc - I understand why they might get their backs up. What you've offered here though is a way for people to literally make money from nothing, I'll personally make anything from £50 to about £2050 without risking a penny of my own money, that's not gambling, that's stiffing the bookies back for once, that's "consumer revenge"
I'd like everyone to note that betfair don't intend to make a loss here. Bookies and betting agents or whatever the correct term is, are in this to make money. And they do. A lot. This offer is to entice you in, I suppose a betting version of a 'loss leader', they hope you'll come back for more, and they'll recoup anything you may have won on a free bet soon enough if you do. By all means have a go at this and make a bit of bonus money, but for the love of god don't play into the bookies hands and keep coming back for more!
I know I won't, I don't even play the lottery, but who can pass up a free £50 with no risk?0 -
Just placed my bet - spread nervously over a number of horses who's names I like(!). Got my £30 tracked on Quidco. So I'm in profit already. Waiting for the £25 from Betfair (know that won't happen immediately).
So I should be £30 up. After the race can everyone who wins something declare it on here, and state whether they would have made the bet otherwise - so we can see who made the biggest profit off of Martin's wonderful tip?0 -
Use the quick national bet link on the right of the start page, and you can bet each way
Just checked my account and the £25 is showing so have withdrawn it
am I being thick but I just end up back on the same page with the pink and blue choices and my bet just says to win!!! Please explain in a bit more detail to a novice?0
