My deep and sincere sympathies for your loss, it's never an easy decision but you know that you did the right thing in not letting Shadow suffer.

Dear hev, I am so very, very sorry for your news. Like tishywish, reading the final news of your dear Shadow was so very sad, hard to take in even, but I can't help thinking that the right thing has been done to take all her pain away.

I'm hopeful that there's a happy irony in all this though with the timing of it coming around the first anniversary of your dear MIL's death. After all you've said about their times together I can't help believing that the two of them are keeping each other company tonight. She has a loving lap now and hopefully your DH can take great comfort in feeling that is the way it was meant to be, to ease his pain too.

    Love, Sue x

Hev I just wanted to say I am sorry about your old girl Shadow. !!!!!!{Hugs}}} I have been following from the beginning but keeping quiet as I have a 20year old girl called Smudge who is as skinny as a rake and sounds just like your Shadow as in cantakourous etc...

Spend some time with your other cat and DS, plenty of cuddles I think.

Thank you so much for your kind posts.

Last night, half awake and half dreaming, I thought I felt her brush against my face. When we first got her she was really nervous of people, didn't like strangers and definitely was nervy of men. At the end she was so loving and had an imperious way of demanding cuddles. If fact, we had to lock her downstairs during the night or she demanded we play at 3am. In our old house you could see every night the downstairs door wedged shut with a ruler. Shadow always had very clear views about what should happen.

    Miss her so much.

Thank you again for your kind posts, they really help.
    Always another chapter

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss Hev:cry: I hope you and your family can take comfort from the fact that you did everything you could for Shadow and that now she is now out of pain and probably ruling the roost at kitty heaven.
