coop are closing my account?

It just gets better and better with me, is anything else gonna happen?

Sorry just checked my online banking and all my direct debits were gone, so i rang account management and they sasid oh were cloing your account, for being £1.01p over drawn, even though there was money going in today? they said i have had 2 strikes, her words, and i should of had 2 letters before this, to tell me carry on mis treating your account and we will close it?

I have never had anything, i cannot go overdrawn it's a basic account, and i have never gone overdrawn? not to my knowing anyway, but apparently we have.

My hubbys wage goes in every week and my Ib goes in every 2 weeks, they rang us a few months ago to ask if my hubby was working as there was money going into the account and it did not state that it was a wage, and they told me that give us 6 months and we could have more priveleges.

I cannot get another account, due to A&L closing and Natwest closing due to me claiming charges back.
Lloyds is a no no, as is barclays we are trying to get charges back from both, we were refused HSBC so what can we do, we have until 15th April when my card will be blocked and 2nd may it will close.

Oh god we have such bad luck what the hell can heppen next? any advise anyone has please let me know

Nothing to do with luck but poor money management on your part.

How about a Halifax Cardcash account, me and hubby opened one no probs with bad credit and CCJs. Applied on Tuesday, Visa Electron Cards arrived on Friday! You have to make sure you put at least £10 before you can activate your cards but that is an option for you. I never heard anything like that before just for going a £1 overdrawn.
  • annettetabs thanks for that i will try them

and mable have you heard the phrase "if you haven't got anything nice to say, then don't say anthing" god some poeple are just too happy for words?

You could also try Citibank or Yorkshire Bank.

    Good luck.

Here here Lillymay1975 my thoughts entirely. Mable that was a little harsh for just going £1.01 overdrawn.

However yes try Citibank, i'm also awaiting an acceptance from them too, I went for their Access Account.
  • Thanks everyone for your help, Lloyds just turned us down and told me to check my credit file, they were asking for my hubbys brothers name? and that there could be a problem with fraud ????? what the hell is that all about

Nationwide do a good basic account. When you are applying for some accounts, are you insisting that its a basic only account? Some operators put you forward for the current accounts as they get a spot of commission on those!

Barclays have been known to open basic bank accounts even if you have had problems with them before, so it is worth a try.

For the worst case scenario, a post office account can have all your benefits paid into it without a credit check - BUT not salary (I believe) and you can only withdraw cash, no direct debits etc. For the salary you could get a pre-paid credit/debit card for salary to be paid onto, but you need to check out the charges for those cards as each is different. Again these are not credit checked.

From personal experiences with Lloyds - I hate them with avengence, I didn't think the banks could get any information from credit checks apart from a yes or a no. Maybe you should get hold of a copy of your credit report. Try looking at Experian and Equifaxes websites if you want to get this done asap, you can order one online and view it almost immediately. That shoulds a bit worrying. Halifax don't even do a credit check for their card cash account I think this is the same with most Basic Accounts, although Citibank use Lloyds sort codes and you can use Lloyds to deposit money as Citibank is only in London. Good Luck
