    Just a question about cost.

If a crusty 800g loaf costs £1.09 in the supermarket. How much do the ingredients cost for a loaf in the machine?

Do you go in for a £1.09 loaf & spend £1.09;)

  • My Rachel Allen machine has a nice big window and I love watching the dough rise too :o

Honestly I love mine to bits, it seems to be a bit of an underdog but the loaves are a lovely size and shape and every one has turned out perfect so far.
i was just looking at a rachel allen one also,,it's half price at €57,,any good??

Ooh lucky you, wish I lived there! Nevermind, I'll keep checking the prices here. Thought I'd made my mind up to buy a Kenwood but now I'm hovering again. I wish I was a decisive person!

Im regretting sending my Rachel Allen one back to Argos(they were 1/2 price here too in September, the one i got was damaged externaly and they had no others in stock-I tried the panasonic when it was £67.99,but had problems with that too)Im holding off to see if Argos reduce this James Martin one.

It looks very similar to Rachel Allen one,and at the bottom of the description theres a note saying the present price is valid until 03/11/09,so maybe it will be reduced in next Wednesdays weekly deals??? Rachel Allen ones price is valid until 22/01/10
I think only the BM's with 2 paddles make "normal"shaped loaves(R.Allen one has 2,hoping the J.Martin one is the same),
PS,have you tried Dixons?they have good deals..im also thinking of splashing out on the Kenwood 450..reduced in Dixons just now,but still expensive.
    Slimming World..Wk1,..STS,..Wk2,..-2LB,..Wk3,..-3.5lb,..Wk4,..-2.5,..Wk5,..-1/2lb,Wk6,..STS,..Wk7,..-1lb.

    GOT TO TARGET..1/2lb under now weigh 10st 6.5(lost 1st 3.5lbs)

I recently bought the kenwood 250, still having teething probs, but it made a great foccacia last night- I will eat the remainder today :D
The recipes in the instructions are awful though, bread came out like a bathroom sponge.
