  • Yes cooking-mama -I realised Amazon was playing funny b*****s when I returned to buy it for £75 and it was gone again. When Amazon locks onto the fact that I have been studying something all sorts of special offers pop up. I was deliberating over the Kenwood BM350 when WHICH? rated it so highly. I will grab it next time.

I have a couple of breadmaker cookbooks purchased quite a few years ago in a fit of enthusiasm. In fact the one I use the most these days is the one that came with my Panasonic.

Its possibly true but as to the SD254 it was £67 then next day went to £74 and in the evening came back to £67. Just keep it in your shopping basket and you'll see the changes.

I vaguely remember someone mentioning a 'tool' that tells you when items go down to a price you set the limit for. I can't remember any more. Winter Brain or what. I think it was Amazon.

    http://www.download3k.com/Internet/Browser-Tools/Download-Amazon-Price-Watch.html perhaps it's this.

Sadly nowhere near but I'll keep a look out for alternatives. My local Sainsbury is a small one but the Tesco is an Extra - will try that out as well.

Really enjoying the stuff we make currently though and pleasantly surprised it doesn't dry out or go hard quickly. Perfect sandwich bread for sure and the loaf is enough for two days so its always pretty fresh.

How much malt would you add?

Haven't had a go at this yet. Probably a tablespoon or so.

for anyone still not convinced about the panasonic, ive been using my little cookworks quite happily for a year now, but the panasonic knocks it into next week even the pizza base is just totally in a different league.

I've got the Kenwood BM450, have used it for a year non stop, every few days and I love it. My mum has the Panasonic SD255 so I have eaten bread from both and I'd say there is little difference personally, both seem excellent breadmakers. I chose the Kenwood as I wanted a stainless steel one but the viewing window is interesting when you first get it. It does seem more bulky on the worktop as it's quite wide compared to the Panasonic, but then it's not as tall. It doesn't seem to get as hot on the outside as the Panasonic.

Thank you very much for all the info

lill - thanks for the info will have a gander over to the site
cooking-mama -that is brill info you have found for me - will look into that more thanks:beer:

kirri - also thank you for your comments too much appreciated

i too would prefer the stainless steel look and i was curious on the window and viewing inside lol

but at the end of the day the bread has to taste nice too and i thought the free book would be an extra help as a novice

so looks like both the panasonic and the kenwood look a good bet

to tell you the truth im really happy to buy from lakeland as i had fantastic customer service from them last week - i have a remoska grande and use it every day only used my oven about 5 times in the past 6 months

ALSO - the elec bill has really really come down im so happy too:j

and for some reason it stopped working after a while - rang lakeland and even though i couldnt find my receipt told them id rung them in june and went to the local shop to me and bought, they still exchanged it for me and i got a brand new one so fab lakeland:T

im going to go online and see the price today and order the kenwood one

will all let you know how i get on have a lovely day all
