:rotfl:Live and let live - it's very OS not to waste the heat!
(And you can always pick the hairs out later .....;))
Edit: My avatar makes a beeline for the warm washing if I use the tumble dryer. Given that that is only about 6 times a year I don't begrudge him!Oh dear, here we go again.0 -

I make mine every day & use my Magimix (my hands are arthritic or I would do it by hand)....I've now got it down to a really simple process that I can do while making other things it takes me about 5 mins. I try lots of different flours and OH will vouch for my bread.
I'd be interested in this way of doing it, can you tell me what the procedure is please? And is it ok for making dough for pizzas etc?
Which magimix model is the best for this?
At least this way you have a machine that does a lot of things and not just breadThanx

You can make any dough recipe in a Magimix. The recipe book that comes with it has recipes and methods. If you have the smallest model and you want a large amount of dough, you just put half the quantity in at a time, combining the two amounts when you tip it out.
I put the yeast into a jug with the warm water for approx 10 mins to froth up. Then the flour, salt and oil/butter/lard in the machine and whizz for 5 seconds. Once the yeast is frothy, I set the machine whizzing and pour the water/yeast in. I takes only about 10 secs to make a ball of dough, then whizz it to knead it for a little while longer, only seconds, the book will tell you how long and then just tip it into an oiled bowl to rise.
Once risen, knock it back, shape it, leave it to rise again and bake.

I had made up my mind to buy the SD255 but now I'm having doubts. I get an immense amount of pleasure from watching the dough rise (ok I know that makes me a bit of a sad git but there you go, it's just one of my little foibles!)
So, what is the best machine WITH a window?Oh dear, here we go again.0 -
My Rachel Allen machine has a nice big window and I love watching the dough rise too
Honestly I love mine to bits, it seems to be a bit of an underdog but the loaves are a lovely size and shape and every one has turned out perfect so far.0
