You're paying tax so that MP's can furnish their London homes and get nice kitchens. You're paying taxes so that MP's wives can take taxies round London when they do their shopping so they don't have to mix with smelly taxpayers on the tubes and busses.
You're paying for all those lovely bombs we drop on Afgany and Iraqi villages, and for computer systems that go billions of pounds over budget, and end up being scrapped anyway.
If you want little luxurys like health and education, of course you'll need to pay extra!!!How to find a dentist.
1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.0 -

So !!!!!! am I paying Tax & NI for? Pay loads in to this Government, but costs me more and more, would love to be able to opt out of paying them and go Private. But why pay twice?
So the more this Government charge for Tax on everything I am meant to except.
Yes things go up in price but 200% overnight, they are having a laugh.
then complain to your mp. if a patient at my work started yapping on about national insurance and why they have to py this and that for nhs treatment if advise them not to bother returning. dont you think that the people working at the dentists pay taxes too? im on the minimum wage (and have two kids) and i get what youre saying but the nhs prices are the nhs prices like it or lump it:beer:0 -

Hang on a minute here, this is getting out of hand. I never had a go at the Dental Staff, yes I asked for clarity on the prices as it was a shock, and was told about the new charges, and that it was in theory fairer. Not that I or the Dental Receptionist or even Dentist agreed.
What I was getting at were the hike in costs and how much it now costs you under the NHS as to what it did cost. Wasn't the whole idea of the NHS free health care for all funded by Taxes whereby the rich pay more taxes and can fund more than the poorer. (Confirmed by a Google Search)
It's just this Government, the Tax we all pay directly or indirectly and the charges for services. Complain to my MP I'd string them upnear us they have recently closed the local High School and Play Barn for the younger kids. Overall they are cutting more services and facilities but charging more. Having said that the other parties are no better.
Finally yes we have to lump it as we have to do for fuel costs etc but it doesn't make it right.Cheers

i completely agree with you and im sorry for that last message but people have literally SCREAMED at me over the nhs prices and as soon as they get used to them, they go up again. i pay taxes too and i do think that £44.60 is too much to pay for say, one very small filling0 -
Alison - Ring up your local Denplan advisor, and force your boss to have a meeting with him/her!!
You'll have to get used to charging people more than £44 for a filling, but a private conversion done well will mean that all the patients that stay with you will see the difference in terms of easier appointments, longer appointments and a more relaxed approach. They will value the difference and be prepared to pay for it.
Those that leave will moan like bu££ery - but the point is - they've left! They'll be moaning at someone else for evermore. How to find a dentist.

I'm glad I left dental nursing and went to The PCT!
...Linda xxIt's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.0 -
