    Hi Hester

Just wanted to second a suggestion made to another thread/your blog? here - on you posting an S.O.A. perhaps on the DFW Board - so maybe we can see ways to help you out with keeping your house.

    love

    Can you hear it.....?

That's the sound of blissful silence as MIL, DS and OH are all out of the house already. OH starts his job today. He's nervous but I'm excited. I even got up early to make a packed lunch for him. Am now back in bed. Will have a nice easy morning (after working the weekend) and then pick MIL up at 3, and have to go to the dentist. Then it's work, work , work later.

Had an inspection recently for my self-employed job. Needed over 90% to pass - got 97% - am very chuffed with that.

Interview thing to do with tax credit claim is at the end of the week, so hopefully that'll get moving.

    Things is looking up!

    Hi whitewing,
Enjoy your morning of peace:j Glad it is all starting to fall into place for you now, must take a lot of strain off the household.
Hope OH has a good first day in his new job. Great result for your assessment:dance:

Hope you start to feel more positive about things in general now that some of the pressure is taken off you.:D

Today started off well, a cup of tea in bed :D Then I had to run DD into town as she'd overslept  - another few litres of petrol gone. Have spent time working out meal plans. Came on here and now off again. Shall detail spends on here from now on - good form of accountability [sorry, bad pun ]

Off to sort out house, again

I turned all that into a pasta bake to have with garlic dough balls :)

Afternoon all, I had to point out the above as I had never even thought of adding garlic to my doughballs!! :T Guess what I want for tea, now?! :rotfl:

Whitewing, good news all round for you, hope everything goes to plan.

Ddraig - DH and ex-DH???? Same place, same time????   GOOD LUCK! I'll be thinking of you. :D

Jumble - hope you feel better soon, but BEES?? I could send you some jumble, but not bees, even although I love honey - me no likey da beasties, especially the 'jaggy' ones. :D

Mini - There aren't any catering facilities there, just sinks, fridge and plugs but I could use a soup turine (sp?) and cook the rice, chilli and soup at home.

Mah-Jong - I use my steamer a lot! I got to the stage of thinking it was a waste of steam if I didn't fill it and have even steamed meat and veggies over the top of soup stock! :rotfl:

 Hello Frugalites. Will have to catch up with posts later as am very busy at work but am in a state of shock having left DH on his own for the weekend while I stayed with a friend (extremely frugal friend)

Came back last night (stopping off to work a couple of extra hours as carer on my day off on my way home) so employer paid part of journey :D
Entered house to sight of party in full swing  DH had invited sis and OH to "supper" which I knew about but was 3 course meal followed by big cheese board  , many bottles of vino and port
Felt a little faint as could also spy remains of pre "small bite of supper" nibbles and numerous empty packets of crunchy snacks.
Housekeeping purse was crying pitifully as it's little tum was woefully empty

Worst bit to come....please leave the room all frugalites of delicate disposition...DH has volunteered our house and garden for mega party in July...2 x wedding anniversaries and birthday on one celebration PLUS we will put up 2 couples AND there will be live music, caterers and nearly 100 guests:eek:

Really, really needed a stiff drink and a lie down but managed to keep a slightly strained and fixed smile on face as everyone (very inebriated by now) made wild, expensive plans.
This morning, have found freezer and fridge stuffed full of food which we will still be eating in 2 years time.

I am trying to be calm about this and get a Frugal Hold on my life again. Yes, this is an important weekend (one anniversary is Ruby) but how frugal can I make it? I think my Bingo savings will have to be called in to help as this was extra money and there is the Quidco cashback due May/June which is about £200.

Woe, woe is me  :silenced: _pale_

Oh Janey, poor you! I'm sure between us we can come up with enough ideas to turn the party into a truly frugal event and save your purse from jumping off the nearest cliff :grouphug: Have a stiff :coffee: and tell us what it needs to entail...

Have been away and come back just in time for Janey's tale of woe...what a pain! Poor Janey! I'd say have one of these  but you'd probably keel over at the extra expense...maybe DH can have the celebration as his very own frugal challenge? I know it's not in the same league, but if it's any consolation I have just come back from visiting my mum and dad, who are elderly and starting to get confused, and they had the gas fire on all the time, every day...and when it got too hot, no problem, they just opened the window and let all the heat out... I said, 'Why don't you turn the fire off instead?' and they looked at me in surprise.....and they used to be diehard frugalists!
