Nipped to asda before as needed soda crystals (37p) the prices have changed again on the bargains I got the other day:confused: 4p dried peas are now 48p, 7p dried onions now 37p, pizza bases 68p from 19p, but the tapioca has gone down from 22p -19p:confused: Very strange things happening with pricing at the moment:rolleyes:

The cake decoration stuff is still ridiculously cheap, sugar strands 16p, jelly diamonds 24p, hundreds and thousands 19p:confused:.Mumzy - I have picked you up a few for you to do baking with your kids:D

Nyk they have a two man dome tent in asda for £7.97:j or a three man one for £9.24.You can even have a spotted one called a festival tent for around £10 so you know which is yours out of the hundreds pitched:D Makes me feel like going camping again - not been for years:rolleyes:

The (UK) circulating coins, excepting the two pound coin, were redesigned in 2008, keeping the sizes and compositions unchanged, but introducing reverse designs that each depict a part of the Royal Shield of Arms and form the whole shield when they are placed together in the appropriate arrangement. The exception, the 2008 one pound coin, depicts the entire shield of arms on the reverse.

Funny you should say that, as just yesterday we received a 2008 2p coin as part of OH's wages. Yes it does look like part of a shield of arms. If I am not breaking some archiac law, I will try to get OH to post a photo of it later.

There you are you see - your frugal friends are in the know! If you want answers, get them on this thread, lol!

    Good Morning all,

I have nursery at 1pm-3.30pm and then might be going to tesco with sophiesmum depending on wether or not this coupon comes :) Ohhhh i do hope my children behave in there!
Im feeling better than i did yesterday afternoon , i felt sick of all of a sudden and had a sore belly but iam fine now :) why did i have to be female??? LOL men have it sooo easy!!!
Think thats about it for today.

PS: forgot to say my tomato plants still have water in them from the other day..i have tried tipping it all out but soil comes away with it. Im so sure they will die.

Do you not have to put it onto photobucket first?

    Hi all,
Thank you whitewing! Now you know what I'll be doing all summer... trying to make up the money jigsaw! You can't upload photos to here, you can only link to them, but I did a search and found some linked, I think, to Wikipedia.

Sophiesmum - Asda tents under a tenner? Wow! I hope my £10 voucher arrives very soon because I know what I'd like to buy! :rotfl: I don't care how silly it is, I haven't camped for absolutely years and years and one never knows when one may need emergency accommodation - like during an island hop! :D

Redglass, thanks for the potato update, I'm now hoping some of the flowers die off within the next 3 days! In Spring Cottage Garden he just seemed to chop off all the leaves, stalks etc and there were no signs of flowers. But, of course, being TV he never said how long he'd been ntrying that on film to actualy find potatoes! And he NEVER, EVER finds slugs, snails, greenfly or any other beastie life! I've no way of knowing about the flowers with the ones in the tub as I chopped them off in the hope of hurrying the spuds along. :rotfl:

It's DD's 21st birthday today so I'm going to pop into town to pick up some more party fare this morning before she and DGD arrive this afternoon. Still need to be at the ready for work but it's half day for the shops, so party comes first! :D

My niece has just left after popping in for a few hours to chat. We love sharing moneysaving tips, and she is into MSE thanks to me!:D
She has just told me of a cookery class that she attends on a monday afternoon that is run by the NHS that promote healthy eating. You pay £2.00 and you make whatever meal it is that week. Now, I know I can cook but so can she, but they provide all of the ingredients, the energy and also the containers for you to take home your cooking. She has so far made chicken pie, chicken curry and naans, and lasagne. Next week its going to be fish pie. Being a healthy eating initiative, all the produce is fresh and of good quality. I phoned them up and I start on Monday. She was saying for 2 quid, you get more than enough to make even a few meals, and all you have to do is either have it for tea, or freeze it!;) I can't wait.:rotfl:

Hi fruguys and gals, it's sunny here today and guess who chose NOT to put a washing on last night?! :o

Went into town this morning and did some more of the party shop, so I now have most of the savouries bought plus the marshmallows, peanuts, crisps etc. My plan was to make the 'top hats' this afternoon (for the children at the party, honest), but I forgot to get Smarties!

My frugarty budget is slowly creeping up (as per cashback) but I think I'm doing really well, considering the amount of stuff I have bought! Mr S had several varieties of Aynsley Harriet cous cous on special offer, so I am home with 10 boxes, plus savoury rice mixes were on special, so I have cheated and bought 3 different types. There was a single bargain that I simply could NOT miss. There was this solitary, but massive, duck on the chilled counter and it was price slashed to an incredible £3! Worse, it was being targetted by another customer! :o I am ashamed to say that I deftly swooped, swept it off the shelf with split second precision timing and TOUCH DOWN! Beat her to it! :rotfl: (Lady in the shop, if you are reading this, please accept my apologies, but I REALLY, REALLY needed that bird for a special meal this weekend when my parents come to stay :o ) Now all I need is a freasy (frugal + easy) a l'orange recipe to impress them beyond belief. Can't decide whether to count the duck in my grocery challenge as I wouldn't have bought it if I hadn't to cook a celebratory dinner on Saturday. For now, it has been paid for out of the cashback/party fund. :D
