Afternoon to all those in Frugal Land.
I have been working all day and will be going out again in an hour to do the "bed" run. Had to keep dashing home to check on post-op DH who is not doing too badly but still very tired. He has discovered that sneezing when one is full of stitches is not a good idea.
But he is eating very little....home made soup and yogurt. I made a huge pan of chilli on Thursday and am munching my way steadily through it...cooled down with the homemade coconut milk as it is a little fiery.
So far I have spent £46 this month so not doing bad. Still need to update my sig and sort out DDs etc.

Hey guys, I need some help! My housemate was using broccoli for tea and was going to throw away two big broccoli stalks. I thought I could use them somehow and asked if I can have them - can you make broccoli soup? Or does anyone have any other suggestions? It seemed a waste, and now I can't think what to do with them!

  • Sorry guys, very late with the May totals, coming in at a whopping £970.15 my worst month yet!
No excuses for it, just bought new bedding for my bed and curtains to match and paid £130 for the kids summer camp amongst the normal bills.
I'm still at it although with holidays coming up it seems to be running out of control, I think I just need to log in a bit more to get lots of great advice from all you lovely frugalites:T

Hi Slowly fading, I love this website, it's really good inspiration for using leftovers and stuff people would usually throw away and also I spied a recipe for brocolli stalk soup, hope it helps.

Mumzy, I have been very good and added everything in my spending list, its not just food:eek: There are five of us in the budget, I keep thinking maybe it was a bit unrealistic the total of £5200 I gave myself, but I'm still going for it and whatever the total is this year I am going to beat it next year:T
