A tip is posted in the main article about arranging your own courier to overcome expensive postage fees on eBay. Be Very Careful Before You Do This.
My wife purchased a used baby carrier which was described as being in excellent condition. When it arrived it was filthy. Item Not as Described, Right? we raised a claim with eBay, but eBay ruled in favour of the seller, not because they disagreed about the condition of the item, but because we had arranged our own courier. They said that this was considered the same as collecting the item in person, therefor their buyer protection rules no longer applied!!!!
Do Not Arrange You're Own Courrier Unless You Are Positive That The Item Is As Described!!!0 -
HI
I would like to let everyone know how I find good bargains on eBay. A friend of mine told me about this site where you can search for items ending soon that have no bids and there is also a tool for finding listings that have been misspelled (apparently these get missed in the usual eBay search and often have no bids too).
If you are interested - nobids(dot)net ( just change the (dot) to a . - they won't let me post a link yet).
I've been using it for a while now and have found some great bargains, especially at Christmas shopping time.
Hope this helps you save some money.

It would probably be better to raise a new post in the ebay sub forum.bubbles0169 wrote: »well that was a very helpful reply wasnt it?

In answer to your question, yes you can ask but if the seller says no there is little you can do about it. eBay will only assist in a refund of the original full payment and only if you return the goods - they cannot force the seller to refund your return postage. If you really wanted to get your return postage back (and the seller refused) you would need to take it up with Trading Standards (they will only get involved if the seller is a business) or small claims and to be honest its probably not worth the hassle for a couple of quid. Just leave the appropriate feedback and star ratings based on your experience once the seller has done everything they are willing to do.bubbles0169 wrote: »i bought 5 identical necklaces from the same seller as bridesmaids gifts, they came the other day but two have flaws on them which id like to exchange for flawless ones, the seller has agreed to it so i sent them back recorded first class for piece of mind, can i ask the seller to refund this?0 -
