Thanks to collie_27 and rare_stuff :money:
Worked out how to monitor searches using RSS feeds.
I am using Google Reader and have added a few searches and gotten it working.
Is there a way I can be notified that a new item has been added to my search without logging in and checking Google Reader?
Can't I for example be sent an e-mail when a new item is added, that way I would now about it straightaway rather then have to check myself.0 -
for spelling mistakes just use phatfingers
I don't find spelling mistakes much use personally, I prefer lookig for rubbish & undescriptive listings that don't easily appear in the search listings.0 -

I'm not an expert on RSS, there may be a method or service that emails you when new items are added but personally I don't know of one. You could use a feedreader that sits alongside your browser in a sidepanel, I had one like this on firefox as an addon and it would show new items as a bold headline. Also, if you have more than one search you can combine these into one feed using yahoo pipes. Again, I'm not an expert on this and you may be better putting a question on the techie board.Do You Twitter?

Thanks for that rare_stuff
one small question
Would you be able to notice this whilst doing normal internet browsing or do you need to go out of your way to check it?I had one like this on firefox as an addon and it would show new items as a bold headline.
I love the way that for example Yahoo Messenger lets me know I have a new e-mail as soon as it arrives eg: just now that there was a new post on this thread. :-)0 -
hmmm! we're starting to go seriosuly off-topic here!

The addon showed in a side panel on the browser, you could 'toggle' it on or off, but it would be uptodate within minutes, so there's no need to do anything other than normally browse the net, though you may find that it's annoying having to scroll web pages left and right to see all of them.Do You Twitter?

Thanks mate, shall move to the techies for the low down on all things RSS.
I only started using RSS for eBay.
Before that I used to manually check every three days or so for whatever item I was looking for..... never knew about the eBay favourite seach option.... doh.
But I think if I can get RSS configured right my searching technique will be as good as it gets.0 -

Given that the snipers also earn an affiliate commission, it's a bit greedy for them to charge users as well!
Goofbay may be British but JustSnipe almost certainly isn't and when you download it, you get more than you bargained for!!! Media/Fastclick pop ups and worse than that, malware called SpamBlockerUtility!!!! Try getting rid of that one!!!
I find it incredible that MM should recommend such sites!!!!! Has anyone actually done any research on them?0 -
There is a great webiste I came across called http://www.bargaintrawer.com which seaches for popular items on Ebay.....so you know you are buying the "in things" that people desire.0
