We were there at the weekend (we also stayed at the nearby Crowne Plaza too - which was obviously more expensive but very nice!). I would highly recommend eating at this place (about a 5 min walk) http://www.maida-restaurant.co.uk/- its a little gem! Try the milkshakes for dessert....I have never had anything as scrummy in my life as one of their Snickers Milkshakes! LOL! Theres also a cracking place across the road called Bar Music Hall to go for a good fry-up breakfast (the veggie one is fab!) - really chilled out place and great food and cocktails (even at 11am!).

I found the places in Hoxton Square "up their own ar**s" - we arrived at the Hoxton Square Bar and Kitchen at 11.57am and were turned away as they "didn't serve food" (even breakfasts!) until 12!!!! How stupid was that! (the bloke was really horrible and just sat stuffing his face whilst turning us away as we were 3 mins early!!!!). We also tried the Hoxton Apprentice but half the menu was "off" and when I saw the size of their omlettes for £7 (no bigger than a fried egg and hidden under some cress!), we left!!!!!

I stayed there on Tues night, with wife and grandson (thanks Val!)
Warm welcome at reception. really superb room, nice bar and super 'Lite' breakfast (included).
5 mins walk to tube (Old Street) so really easy to get around on the Tube. If I get the chance, I will stay there again!

I have one room booked for tomorrow (Saturday 9 August) at £1. I'm 95% sure that we cannot go (cannot get a dog sitter :( )

If anyone would like to take our place, please PM me. There will be no charge for this booking.
