Took out a five star warranty to cover everything possible, sounded wonderful. Had a problem with an electric window not going up after 30 mins of trying. Click4warranty said go and check it out at a garage of your choice and to contact them with the results. The garage had the same problem and felt that it was probably the regulator. Click4warranty said they wouldn`t authorise repair as it hadn`t failed completely. We contacted them again for an explanation. They told us much the same. We asked if we had to wait until it failed comletely and they replied that they wouldn`t fix it then because they had already rejected the claim. Waste of money, total fraud !!!

Morning all, I believe that you may have completly missed the point of a car warranty there. Mechanical Breakdown Insurance is just that, it covers catastrophic failure and not your car maintainance. I don't mean to be rude, I know that this is my first post here, but warranties are for big issues, not solenoids that are showing signs of age. Your post is about you not wanting to pay out for your car maintaince and not an insurance claim. Sounds like click4warranty were right.

    If only that were true.

My ex had Warranty Direct cover. The water pump on her car failed suddenly and the engine was wrecked. Warranty Direct refused to pay out until the engine had been stripped completely (at my ex's expense) so that one of their 'engineers' could determine what the cause of failure was. This was despite three independent mechanics (RAC, WD approved repairer, local garage) all agreeing that it was the catastrophic failure of the water pump that had caused the damage.

As there was no guarantee that, after the strip down, WD would pay out, my ex ended up cutting her losses and buying another car.

Same happened to me with Bristol Street Motors, 3 year warranty purchased with a 3 year old Punto. Broke down, RAC said suspected head gasket. BSM wanted £45 for the diagnostics, then said another £200 to strip the engine, said there was a hole in the piston and needed a replacement engine, quoted £2800, warranty co. did not pay out, ended up trading it in and only getting £500 for my car. Did not bother buying a warranty for the replacement car a 7 year old Suzuki Ignis.

Don't like the idea of it having to go to a certain garage - the aftermarket warranty on my car (supplied by a Skoda dealer, so it's a Skoda UK warranty) states that the car can be repaired by anyone. The two repairs it's needed I have taken it to the supplying dealer who have then sent the car to a Vauxhall main agent - no issue at all with repairing it and I'll probably extend the warranty.

I'm trying to get extended warranty for a car I'm buying ( 7 year old Audi TT coupe) . Looked at clikc4warranty and warrrantyDirect and both seem to cover similar things. Click4warranty is slightly cheaper and they have 21 day no quibbles refund as well as cover from day 1.

Any one know much about click4. There seems to be diff view on Warranty direct despite recommedations from honestjohn and some other reputable sites.
There is certainly not a no quibbles refund if you dont want the policy. Avoid these at all costs. I spent 2 hours on the phone being passed around from department to dept with people telling me they could do nothing about it. I am now in the process of contacting their underwriters who are based in the tax haven of gibrater. Nice company-won't refund fully entitled English tax payers but happy to take it off them and not pay tax themselves.

That's the name of their game. Pass you around, grind you down, wear you out, now go away. It sucks tbh.
    Ona more general note:-
Why on earth are all of these stupid cars failing anyway? I've never had a bill in my life except for wear and tear ie. maintenance. And my current car is an old Y plate, 2001. Lucky old me! Tempting fate here .....
  • The simple fact is that if you don't have a warranty from a reputable garage, you cannot spend all of your £10,000 (example) budget on the car. You know you need to keep some for insurance, say £1,000 but many people forget that they should also keep perhaps another £1,000 for repairs and maintenance, including new tyres for example.

Forking out £xxx on dodgy warranties on a per per month basis because you have blown your whole budget on a car which was too expensive and costs more to maintain than you can reasonably afford is plain stupid.

I know next to nothing about cars but I admit that. Most importantly I admit that to myself. So, I bought with 24 months Network Q warranty and only 19k miles. I threw another £300 on new tyres, £40 or so on tracking, £60 on breakdown cover, £750 on insurance, etc. It will hit the main dealer for a service once a year at a little over an independent and if I ever wanted to sell it, I reckon it would fetch a fair price. However, trouble free and safe motoring are why I do it.
  • I emailed click 4 warranty as i am interested in taking a policy out for a 4 year old Vauxhall Tigra, and i had a reply back that any part of the folding roof would not be covered under warranty, and that for any claim, i would have to pay for diagnosis before any claim would proceed, there are so many negative points in click4warranty i would be very suprised if i would be paid out for any future faults, of course i did not expect everything to be covered but come on, the roof is a major part of the car, and they seem to be another not worth the paper warranty company.
  • All used car warranty companies are there to make money not to help you. I had a really bed experience with them and I could talk about it for hours. Before you take any warranty for your loving car please read my review.
Making a claim through the phone:
    - at least 20min waiting to talk to someone
    - whole time on the phone at least 45min

    Click4warranty Term and Condition:
For all breakdowns the table below shows the EXCESS payable by YOU if YOUR VEHICLE has covered since the date of first registration at point of BREAKDOWN.
Up to 60,000 miles at point of BREAKDOWN 0%
Up to 70,000 miles at point of BREAKDOWN 10%
Up to 80,000 miles at point of BREAKDOWN 20%
Up to 90,000 miles at point of BREAKDOWN 30%
Up to 100,000 miles at point of BREAKDOWN 40%
Over 100,000 miles at point of BREAKDOWN 50%
plus £10 excess to the policy plus at least £50 diagnostic.

REPLACEMENT CAR HIRE contribution ONLY, ONLY and I repeat ONLY in case if Click4warranty make delay when processing a claim (in every case they will tell you that). If your car being fix few days you will not get any money for replacement car. They will tell you that fixing car according to the book takes only few hours and it's your mechanic fault to keep it so long.

Please, please be aware before take any car warranty.

Never buy anything from this fraud company. They have so many hidden things in their fine print that they will decline any claim you will try to make. Firstly claims phone keeps ringing for 10 mins before someone picks and says Oh you have come to the wrong person then puts you on hold for another 10 mins. Finally when you get to talk to the person they will ask you lots of questions then they want the garage to give a ring for again confirming the same things. Finally if you still persist and carry on they will find the minutest of things to decline your claim. So better find a good garage and pay them instead of these frauds.

Which fraud company is that then? You dont mention which one. Hidden in the fine print? Not hidden if you read the terms and conditions surely or is it done in invisible ink? Microdots maybe?

They ask lots of questions and want to speak to the garage? Whats the problem with that? You maybe trying to claim for a sudden brake failure when the garage will say not the pads and discs are just worn. They maybe able to negotiate the price down.

Guessing they declined your claim, what was the reason?

And no i do not recommend anyone getting a used car warranty unless its a manufacturers one. But threads that whinge without details is often because its obvious the issue wont be covered.
