I have to agree the UCAS website was shockingly slow on results day - only to be expected though. I'm off to the University of Birmingham, does anyone know if they are affilated with NUS? My old school was so I'd be dissapointed if my uni wasn't!0

Bit late ( we have been away all week) my daughter is off to Leeds (Trinity & all Saints) to do Psychology ( I don't think I can even spell it!) She has got the accommodation she wants and her results were better than expected so I am a very proud mum!0

It's a lovely feeling, isn't it? I've had my son driving me around lately, and that makes me proud as well, he feels surprisingly safe to me considering he only passed his test a couple of months ago and then didn't drive at all until we insured our car just until he goes away. I am going to miss him SO MUCH and I keep telling him this, I think he is going to thump me if I keep going on about it!nearlyrich wrote:She has got the accommodation she wants and her results were better than expected so I am a very proud mum!Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

Birmingham is strongly affiliated with the NUS. However, I don't see why you would be disappointed if your university wasn't affiliated. If you're mainly concerned about student discounts then your University card should suffice.0 -

I remember crying all the way home from Manchester last year, worse that leaving little treasure for first day at school, you do miss them, this time will be worse as we only have the 2 and both will be going away.
Still Leeds isn't too far either and I go there at least once a week for work so I can see her regularly if we want to..she is hoping I will bring food parcels LOL0 -
My only child (boy) is off to Cardiff to study history/politics getting to A's and a B.....very very proud but teary Mum here.....husband left me pregnant shown no interest in his son......my son has worked so hard at school the past two years.....i am not sure what halls he is in yet as hvnt heard from Cardiff. I am prepared for the happy/sad day taking two days off work to get over the blotchy puffy faced teary person
....He is most looking forward to all the sporting opportunities.....and the better standard of teaching.
Cardiff is only about 2 1/2 hours drive and meant to be great for shopping so I have good excuse to visit once he has settled in. Trying to find a good mobile deal for him and busy getting together all he needs to take and giving him cookery lessons !
I am so proud and well done to him, just shows what anyone can achieve.Treat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.0 -
