They gave the same advice- to refuse entry every time. I don't think I am brave enough- I just want it to go away and would rather let him o what he needs to than be constantly worrying about him calling us or coming round.
She said she will send me a budget planner form along with some general information, and that we should make an offer of a repayment schedule with the bailiffs in writing. Then if they refuse this it will be passed back to the council who will review our situation and decide on an arrangement.
It doesn't make sense for all this hassle, why can I not just make the arrangement with the council now, and ssave the stress, and the bailiffs time.
Also do you think I should maybe call him and tell him I know my rights and will not be letting him in or will this just inspire him to hassle us even more?

Just thought I'd click thanks for every poster- you can't imagine how much your advice has helped, and made me feel a little less worried and alone in dealing with this.
My boyfriend has enough stress at work at the moment, he's on a provisional training scheme to work in stocks and shares and it's very high pressure and extremely low paid- there is a lot of pressure on him to wim a contact with the baby coming soon, and if he does we will finally be out of this financial blackhole.
Therefore i try to avoid discussing the ins and outs of 'home stuff' as it would only cause extra worry and theres nothing he can do.
    So thanks again!

starlite - your doing great. I know i would feel the same about letting him thining it'll help it all go away, but i think u need to stay strong and refuse entry. DONT EVEN OPEN THE DOOR as they are allowed to push past you!!Say through the door that you know your rights and will not be letting him in but will be writing a letter explaining how you intend to pay. He will persist and may not leave the door for a while, but as you said you have 2 doors, dont worry about it.
    Take care sweetie

We have an intercom, so I could talk over that but as we live on a busy road could be a bit embarrasing shouting at a bailiff to go away through it
Guess I'm lucky that I don't have to speak to him face to face though
i am still just so angry that the council will not help at all. I have offered to pay £50 tomorrow, and then £100 per month which means some other debts will be left unpaid and we will have nothing to live on, but this is a priority I guess.
But they refused! Why would they rather let this bailiff thing drag on instead of just accepting our offer.
Should I contact the bailiff company themselves rather than the appointed guy or will they give the same story?
I'm just sitting here waiting for the dreaded sound of the bell..and can't help but cry and worry
