Barclays Tax Haven - any problems opening?

I am an exisiting BArclays customer and phoned them today. I want to open the aco!!!! with a minimun amount but then transfer up to the £3000 into it prior to the closing date ( once funds were transfered from another bank to my Barclays bank) and asked if this would be ok.
The lady said that due to the length of time taking to open the accounts that any extra/additional money I pay in may not be credited in time. So basically was saying best optin was to open the ISA account with the maximun amount to begin with. Hope this info helps someone.0 -
went into branch a couple of weeks ago, as a non-Barclays customer and completed opening applic for tax haven isa ok and left a cheque for £1.
once this is done, you have APPLIED to open an isa........the actual account cannot be opened until 6th april 2008, when the opening cheque is put into your account. Then you may add extra funds, ie £3599 on 6th april.
As the 6th is a sunday, expect queues at the branch on the monday morning!0 -
dont forget the tax haven isa is a new product for 2008/2009, so is not actually available until 6th april!0

U mean lots of people will be having day off work due to it being first day of new tax year, or do u believe that the people who will want to maximise their tax free savings advantages are those who dont work.

noooo, some'll do it online, others post and some [like me] will take their cheques into the branch on monday [ as long as they're not all queuing up at my branch!]0

I spent an hour of my time in barclays 2 weeks ago and i have just got a letter this morning with my cheque back saying they must receive my correctly completed form and a valid subscription before 5th april!
any ideas what this means as i sorted everything out with a personal banker when i went to see them.0 -
newcastlebelle, just a correction - it's not a new product for 2008-9, I went into my local branch last Saturday (with hoards of others!) to catch the deadline for 2007-8. All set up, not offered any other products and I can set up a direct debit for 2008-9 tax year in a couple of weeks once it's set up.0

sorry, the customer service manager who opened my account gave me the wrong information then.
the 'taxbeater' was 2007/2008 product, the 'taxhaven' will be the 2008/2009 product.0 -

Taxbeater was a 2006/07 and 2007/08 Product, Tax Haven is a 2007/08 and 2008/09 Product.
