being a cheapskate.. they were slopped in a tin of tomatoes and a sprinkling of mixed herbs.. and the obligartory splash of soy sauce.. and are now in the oven.. they'll be done when they are.. and not before..

I *think* about 20 mins @180 but last time I cooked them was in the old oven which was a little wonky... Although having been veggie most of my life I get really paranoind about if I have cooked meat for long enough - not killed anyone yet!!

eta sorry didn't realise the time you posted *rolls eyes* and that was for them just on a roasting rack... urgh not being very helpful now!

2 batches of cookies made and kitchen is cleaner then when I started - am I redeeming myself yet?

    Evening all,

Dusty - Thank you for your vigilance today. I'm amused by the car taking 5 attempts to park - it must have been even more amusing to watch. A question about the 'older man' when you say he went to my door, do you mean he walked up the drive? (The drive I park the car on doesn't lead to a door). Do you know how long he was there. Can you describe him? It was probably old g*t face from upstairs next door bodging something...

But I am pooped! It's been a heavy week at work this week and today just about finished me off. Trying to keep my cool when all around are breaking the rules and abusing process. But some stern words over the phone to one person seemed to make them see sense. Then an emergency meeting this afternoon with some bosses in uniform enabled them to finally see the light and the result is

    Soappie's team 103 - Other team 0

It feels so good to beat the opposition fairly, squarely and legally. But, it's a shame the pain has to be gone through. I'm only sorry I can't tell you the finer details about it - but I'm gagged by the Official Secrets Act.

Thanks to those who have given me facebook access - I'll find time this weekend to have a browse

Right, I'm off to nice neighbour now for a much needed G&T and to catch up on all the gossip. I'll be on later.

Ok, have finally got up of my ar*e and done some flying. DD1's bedroom is now looking spick and span. Between us we:
    • put away all the [STRIKE]junk [/STRIKE]cherished posessions - those of you with 'girly' girls will know what I mean!
    • thrown away a box full of rubbish (although DD1 didn't notice what I put in it)
    • Made the bed
    • Hung up all the clothes
    • Wiped the surfaces (DD1 did this by herself)
    • Hoovered - DD1 had her first try at it and didn't do bad since we have a Dyson and its rather heavy for a 5 year old!
I also hoovered the stairs, our bedroom and DD2's room - well, what I could see of it anyway.

DH bringing pizza and salad home for tea, so oven is on ready. Glad it only takes 10 mins - I'm starving! He should be home within the next 10 mins hopefully.

Evening all. Hope everyone is well. Just trying to do a quick catch up, been in the garden playing football with DS2.

prettypennies, my partner gives me a set amount per week but with that I have to pay for everything inc save what I can for hols etc his contribution just covers the rent and council tax to be honest. He's also SE and when he earns extra he spends that on his things, I don't see any of it. He pays for his 3 credit cards which he uses to buy his things on (his toys, gadgets, him going on weekends away etc)

MBNA phoned my partner today actually, offering him a 0% tranfer, but he was sensible and calculated what he'd save with the 4% charge it was just a couple of £ and that's if he only pays what he usually does off his card so he declined their offer. Didn't realise how little these 0% cards can save.

Erm kid rooms, was it ChasingButterflies who asked? I have 2 boys, both also with special needs (bit strange how many of us there is on this thread....) who have their own rooms. I wash their linen regularly as they're both bed wetters it's very frequently changed, D2 gone through 8 sets of sheets this week (inc some duvet washes) DS1 has used 3. I tidy in there most evenings when one is in the bath I help the other with their room, then the other which seems to work for us. I encourage them to use the linen basket, DS1 tends to not be as good at this but both are much better than their Dad at using it. They get dusted and the windows cleaned on Fridays usually (Saturday if I am busy on Friday) and vacuumed when I do the landing on Wednesday then usually on a Friday aswell. Major sorting outs and fling session are usually done by me on my own on a Friday because they won't let me throw things out otherwise.

Nicki, thanks for the Aldi reminder, F&V shop here only had manky fruit in, forgot about the Aldi offers, might even brave going this evening.

Well that's both of mine off for 2 weeks now, annoying that the weather reports are so horrid for the next few days, fingers crossed it improves so they can play outside at some point even if it's just in the garden.

I'm going to go do my meal plan and shopping list, see if I can get everything we need from Aldi. Might have to look up rashes later as me and DS1 still have them and I don't think it's chicken pox.
One day I might be more organised...........

I've over done it in the garden - I'm bushed. I have cleared the soil to the driveway (so hope it doesn't rain as it will just go to a mush and it is oh so black outside) and spread the turf over really lumpy. OH will sort it out as he is lovely like that and will be pleased I have made such an effort - it is looking so fab. When it is finished I'll try to do a before and after shot for you all.

Pots and turnips in the oven. They are all cut in cubes and coated in oil and seasoning so kids might not tell one from t'other.

Mudbath where are you? Hope you are ok hun.

Soappie old guy was very briefly there. He walked up the drive towards buster went out of view and then went back down driveway. He was only there as long as it takes to post a leaflet. I didn't get a great view but think he has a bald head with grey hair and was proably about 5'7" tall and about a 40" chest. He moved at a decent speed and was casually dressed. Does that help in any way?
