I like SRO Audiences the best - they don't charge, unlike some audience companies who offer a 'premium' service for a subscription fee. Audience companies are paid to find an audience - they shouldn't ever charge members of the audience for turning up.
Plus Martin (who runs the company) is really friendly and fair.

  • I just wanted to say thank you to everyone for this. This is something I've wanted to do for a while, and just came across this thread by accident! :) Cheers!

I have been to one Applause organised show and it was appauling the amount of people turned away! I have now applied for a BBC show 'Bang Goes The Theory' Can anyone compare their experiences? Is BBC any better than Applause?

We went to a recording of "The Magicians" just before Christmas which is a BBC show, but the tickets of which were distributed by Applause Store. We were waiting there for probably three hours while they made last minute adjustments to the set and then they realized that they had a problem as the stage was meant to have people on both sides and one side would see how the trick was done. So half of us were turned away after the long three hour wait. Applausestore were very apologetic and said we could have guaranteed tickets for another recording to make up for this mistake. When it came nearer to the date of the new recording we got no contact from applause store, despite numerous queries as to where our new priority tickets. Not amused at all by their lack of customer care. Very disappointed.

Its not unusual to feel herded when part of a TV show audience. Was put off by my first, and only experience for the Tricia show.

A Hungarian friend of mine asked me to go with her. Normally not my thing, but she was a lovely person, so agreed. Thought might be fun. Was wrong. They'd been handing them out in our city centre, not far from where it was broadcast.

Had annoying people with clipboards, herding everyone into a room, with annoying pep talks, whilst we helped ourselves to coffee, etc. Felt patronising, although they were ultra polite. I went with it, as a unique experience for me.

It got worse, packed in stalls with a heavy breather next to me, and all these prompt cards held up, telling us when to clap, and cheer, etc, whilst morons kept coming on stage talking about their sad, pathetic lives. Wanted out, almost immediately. Ended up sitting it out.

Will never willingly do again, no matter how good the friend.
New forum. New sig. Yes I still need to lose 2 stone!

SRO Audiences are great I've found. Have seen Dancing on Ice with them and also The Voice. They are well organised and their staff are easy spot and happy to help where possible (my sister had taken day off work sick so needed to be seated somewhere that she wouldnt easily be spotted on TV!) their coloured wristband way of 'herding' us works brilliantly well.

Saw A League of Their Own with applause Store and it was a great show but the staff communicated poorly with the audience members when it came to getting us all into the studio. there was no clear distinction between priority audience members and standard so we all mingled in together (I was not priority)

Obviously I'm a bit late on this but the Endemol studios are in Bristol (in Brislington) where Deal or No Deal is filmed so places do come up occasionally!
