Help I need a DVD Recorder

but DVD-RAM is far far superior in terms of functionaility. If you want something to use for day to day watch and delete stuff rather than playing it elsewhere then get a decent RAM disc and use that. If you don't use RAM I'm pretty sure you negate the timeshifting functionality also which seems to be a big sacrifice to make. Thats one of the main selling points of the Panasonics
i think decent quality more recent dvd recorders dont need to utilise dvd-ram. i say that because when our sony broke down we got hold of a second hand panasonic. it was an oldish model and most of what could be done with the dvd-ram can be done on our now fixed sony with rw discs. however i dont know whether recent panasonic recorders still only have plenty of functions with the dvd-ram discs or whether they now do what other dvd recorders do and let people do editing on other types of discs.0
