Anyone with iPhone, T-Mobile (contract) & Web'n'Walk ?
Options
Just wondering if anyone has this particular mix as this is the package of phone & contract I am thinking of going for, and wanted to see what people thought of it as a combination ?
Are you able to send & receive e-mails (from a regular POP3 ISP) ?
Thanks,
Kevin.

I have a contract with t-mobile (flext time) and im thinking of getting the iphone as well. I know you can unblock the phone/sim so you can use itwith the phone and im wondering wheather it will still work.0

Just something to bear in mind and I'm sure someone will correct me if this is wrong, but I think O2 started activating its EDGE capability on its network because the iPhone is not 3G capable. EDGE is faster than standard GPRS but not as fast as 3G.
As far as I know, T-mobile doesn't use EDGE, and so you'll be restricted to GPRS speeds (dial-up modem speed) if you use it with T-mobile."...And I gave that man directions, even though I didn't know the way, 'cause that's the kind of guy I am this week." -- Homer Simpson0 -
i-phones are unlockable BUT you wont get all the features it was intended for. They are !!!! anyway why spend all that money on a phone that doesnt have 3g internet? I would go with N95 which includeds wifi or viewety they are much better all round phones. i-phne is an MP3 player thast is able to ring out on, no though of phone first :rolleyes:0

But the iphone is so god damn sexy and the n95 is like a brick.
I don't use the internet on my phone, I don't do picture messaging and I don't take photos with my phone.
For me I think the iphone is an option."I'm not from around here, I have my own customs"
For confirmation: No, I'm not a 40 year old woman, I'm a 26 year old bloke!0 -
it would work if you unlock it yes, just that the internet will be even slower on it with t-mobile, than it is with o2 and edge
you would also loose visual voicemail, but thats no real loss. when you get a voicemail it will just connect you to the standard voicemail number like a normal phone0 -
As others have said, you can unlock it but then you're left with a phone that you can't update the software on or else you'll brick it. Essentially, the camera's rubbish, you can't mms, and you'll be stuck with gprs speeds. Forever. Yeah if you won't use the internet or do anything else then that's not a problem but why don't you just get an ipod touch? Are you tied in to a t-mobile contract at the mo, or are you in an o2 signal hole? You could just take it out on an o2 tariff, they're better than they used to be! Or as others have said, get one of the number of better phones that are out there - many are just as user friendly and many look better. If this has been of any use please click on THANKS, it makes me look good.0

I have been using an Iphone on TMobile since Oct last year. I have 3 different email accounts and have recently updated to V1.4 software and all is fine.
You just have to enter TMobile GPRS settings in to gain web access, which involves entering 3 different settings.
Software is out there to unlock the Iphone in less than 5 minutes and all you do is update to latest version in ITunes and then load the software on your PC and click DoItAll. 5 minutes later you have a fully unlocked IPhone with access to loads of 3rd party applications that are not available with the 02 version.
I use ITunes, maps, weather etc and all standard applications apart from Visual Voicemail (big deal).
With the unlocking software I use if a fault occurs with the phone you can re virginize it putting it back to its original state.
The safari browser make up for the lack of speed and I do not find a lot of difference loading a web page than using my N95 or Vario 3.
Just make sure you have a web and walk package.
Using the Iphone with wi-fi is great especially using You Tube and BBC iPlayer and battery life is better than most 3g phones.
As an aside, If someone was able to offer a new unlocked 8GB Iphone with 12 months warranty on a TMobile Flext 35 tariff with WebNWalk @ £42.50 per month, but the IPhone Initial cost was £69.99, do you think it would have an appeal.?0 -
