Even cheaper if you buy the Asda "Smart Price" foam bath for 18 pence a litre! It's good and thick too so it can be watered down although nothing can compete with a freebie. Lucky you0

I use cartons of skimmed longlife milk and the rest of the family use normal semi skimmed milk. When I fill my storage jug up there's about a 1/4 of a carton over so I top their milk up with it.They've never noticed and at the rate they go through milk it saves me going to the shop so often.I swish a bit of water round in the carton too and empty that into my jug.0

I often find some of the fruit juices too sweet too. I dilute them with Schweppes Tonic Water and it makes quite a refreshing drink.0

When my son was small he loved apple juice but it used to send him climbing the walls! So I started doing a 50/50 diluation with tap water and then he was fine and as as family we found we prefered it:D0 -

on the back of the buttering the bread comment, one chef we had said to melt the butter and use a pastry brush to spread it, and you use half the amount...I will pay jexygirl the compliment of saying that she invariably writes a lot of sense!0

Hi
What a great thread , still only half way through reading so if this tip has been posted before apologies .
Porrage oats is a great breakfast but if your chilrdren prefer ready brek here 's a little tip chuck some oats in food mixer( type with blade) and blitz hey presto very very fine oats similar to ready brek.
Also if Im cooking mince for bolanaise always pan fry first , but it tends to clump together , also chuck in mixer, mince will break up into tiny bits and go a lot further
Thanks for all the fab tips love them . the milk one is excellentDebt 25,000 /0.00 Paid off before I found this site .Lightbulb moment ,being refused consolidation loan .Took 4 yrs :T

I don't know if anyone has posted this before but I save the 'spent' batteries from remotes etc. Then use them in clocks, which don't need much power to run. They can often have months of wear in them! The beautiful thing about learning is nobody can take it away from you.
Thanks to everyone who contributes to this wonderful forum. I'm very grateful for the guidance and friendliness that I always receive from you.
