I tried this on another thread but no one replied! (sob!) So trying it here. Got some packets of Boursin soft cheese for 5p!!! Can you freeze it? I risked it anyway at that price!!! Or what about Le Roule?0

That recipe looks absolutely yummy, but way more costly than buying a jar of the stuff!!
How long does the above recipe last for do you know? Is it something that could be bulk made and stored fro a while do you think?0 -
I have to confess that I haven't read all of the thread yet so apologize if this has already been said by anyone.
With reference to posts about what to do with clothes (undies aside of course) that have only been worn once, on a dry day they get really freshened up if you hang them outside. With spring on the way, (Yayyy!!) it seems a good time to mention this too. I used to wash all of my spring and summer clothing to freshen them up after being stored away over winter. A few hours on the line works wonders, especially if it's a bit breezy and they come in smelling clean and fresh. It saves a packet on electricity, water & laundry products too.
There's so many excellent tips on this thread that I reckon that it could soon be turned into a book!0 -
You can make it even cheaper by making it with rocket or parsley leaves - homegrown even cheaper still! - I have seen it sold in farmers markets for quite a lot of money (as a novelty of course!) and it tastes really nice, if you like those herbs.
ooh thank you for that, i love rocket and grow it in the windowsill at least if possible each year so i shall do a poor girls version using sunflower seeds, rocket and hmmm can i get a cheaper cheese? :rotfl: nah, i'll stump up for at least the parmesan methinks... though one does wonder0 -
We had to wear navy blue knickers for school but we were supposed to wear a white pair under them. Not sure if that was for hygeine reasons or the headmistress thought that two pairs of knickers would protect our virtue! When we had gym we just wore the navy knickers and an aertex shirt-it was a girls school.
me too ,yellow aertex and navy knicks:rotfl:no idea what they wear these days with boys around!0 -

navy knickers and navy skirt with light blue top. That was only 15 years ago at a mixed comprehensive. Those navy blue knickers were a sod to track down. Think Littlewoods was the only place near us that sold them.April £5 a day challenge- £15.05/£1500

Regarding towelling bath robes, I find mine very useful for drying myself off after a bath. I got mine for £2 from a charity shop - it was an ex-hospital one and still in excellent condition. If you want cheap towelling robes for your children, might be worth ringing up your local hospital and asking how they dispose of their surplus robes - they may pass them on to local charity shops and they will grow into them if they're a bit large.0
