I like to leaf through glossy mags, but can't justify the expense of buying a few a month.
So now, I manage to get some good mags for free from supermarkets and a bank.
IMHO, the best ones are Asda magazine and Source from NatWest. Asda is monthly and Source is quarterly.
There are others, but those are two I enjoy reading the most.
Hoping this year is better than the last. :)

Not a thief but rather than worry about it, why not ask your neighbour to save her vegetable peelings for you. We have several people on our road who save peelings for us and it's never been a problem.
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

When I was a child (long long ago!) one of my jobs was to go up and down the street collecting the vegetable peelings left out for us on various window ledges so Dad could cook up a warm mash for the rabbits he kept for the pot

    aah, memories

When I make a veggie stock for soups etc. I also throw in the rind of a hard cheese like parmigiano reggiano, which is not that good to eat, but adds a nice flavour to the stock.
Hoping this year is better than the last. :)

    Hi all,

Today, when boiling the kettle for 1 coffee, I empty - ed the kettle first and then filled my mug with cold water. I then poured that water into the kettle and switched on. By measuring the water first I only boiled what was needed and saved some electric.

Turned lights off that were left on although all my bulbs are energy -efficient ones.

after 3 days of power cuts I need a lift and what better way than shopping????I can't face the crowds (or the snow) so am having a lovely time online at my fav shops :)
some even give free delivery and return at the moment and its a great time to order various sizes and try on in the comfort of home and I save money on petrol and car parks. For those shops that you can access through one of the many money saving sites you get your points to keep even if you return stuff too so win /win :)Now is the time to buy special outfits for new year at a great reduction(I just hope the lovely ballgown I sent for in 3 sizes will fit after the turkey!)

I know you have to have a bit of spare cash to buy non essentials like this(tho I do consider my ballgown essential as worn the same one for 5 years now with different cardis on top!).....but it is Christmas and i only ever shop in the sales as it hurts to pay full price for anything.

anyway happy christmas to all,it's been great reading all the tips this year!

Yea, we all know LA redoute, is it's a may be???
I thought the blankets would have a lot of use's. I bought 2 so they can be used as curtains to add extra warmth or over the sofa or bed's.
