I'm going through THE WHOLE THREAD little by little, day by day, noting down the tips that "grab" me, and I'm now at post #491.
Every day someone is posting something new - will I ever catch up?:rotfl:
Quasar, with the amount of time you must spend in this forum, I find it suspiciously odd that you didn't find this thread before!:rotfl:

Often the main content is advertisements.
The larger libraries near where I live stock a selection of up-to-date titles including Olive and Delicious, Zest and various hobby magazines.
You can only borrow for a week but it's free and to be honest a week is probably enough.
It is nice to have a glossy magazine to flick through sometimes but if you buy a lot of magazines it can be a really expensive habit.
Check out if your library loans out magazines!
Best wishes all

Monthly glossy magazines are a really bad habit of mine. I read so many...Glamour, Cosmo, Essentials, Marie Claire, Red, Olive, Delicious, Good Food, Vogue, Elle and sometimes others too. I also sometimes pick up the weeklies like Look and Grazia.
I never thought of borrowing them from the library...I moved recently so I still need to find my nearest one! It's a good idea though, but I do like to cut stuff out of mine, even the fashion ones and keep anything I find useful / inspiring.
I recently subscribed to Glamour for £6 for 6 months and then £7 for 6 months after that, so I save 50% and get a free perfume. I've found that with some magazines it depends on the size you subscribe to as to whether you get a free gift for subscribing or not. Some offer gifts with the travel size and none with the normal size or vice versa so it's best checking in the magazine as well as on the inserts they put in.
I keep telling myself I'm waiting for good subscription gifts before joining some of them but I really should just subscribe to all that I read as I know it'll save me a lot in the long run whether or not I get a free gift with it (to be fair I used to work at Boots and when I left they gave me enough perfume to last for years and I always get bought more for xmas / birthdays so I don't NEED more perfume... but I did get a Benefit makeup set for subscribing to Vogue about a year ago and that's lasted me really well.)0 -
Now that I have a limited budget, and an extended family, I have asked my daughter to give me a subscription to my fav sewing magazine, as its 5.99 a month that I do not have any more.!So thats my Christmas present sorted out.
Just heard that one of my daughters is not coming for Christmas now, (or her family) so I am going to see if I can reduce my Mr A order and save a little there, as the three of us left are not going to need so much stuff. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -

I'm regifting the presents I got from work, because a lot of my time is spent doing favours for disorganised teachers I get smellies, chocolates & wine at Christmas, so today I wrapping them up & putting them under the tree for when the family visit.

Oh I did, ages ago, and posted in it (somewhere before page 20 - on a 40 post per page setting). Now I've decided to go through the whole scary lot. I'm on post 903 at present. :rotfl:Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0 -
I only discovered delicious magazine on a recent break to a cottage that had 3 editions from 2007! I went to the webby and have to admit that I did subscribe (29.95 for a year) but i got a free F word cook book!!!! Thats my justification and im sticking to it!!!! (and my xmas pressie to myself seeing as no one else will get me one!)
Love the calender, I printed it off the original thread - the work on the design and pics is awesome!
