Sneaky ways to save the pennies

true! I am going to look for "good looking" plastic ones so OH doesn't notice he's using the cheap stuff!
I've tried a couple of metal type ones and they have both gone manky. The second one is still in the bathroom. I got an empty one from Asda in a design that I really like, but it is really starting to look quite scruffy now on the metal parts.
I need to look seriously for a plastic one that I like0 -
We bought nice a see-through acryllic hand pump from Asda which was extremely cheap and almost identical to one which we'd earlier bought in Lakeland for about three times the price. Using these for bath Radox and hair shampoo is saving us a lot of money. We also decant our Fairy Liquid or other dish washing liquid into an old hand-soap pump and now use much less as a result.0

oohh i haven't looked on this thread for a while, i was lamenting the £23 on toiletries my family went through last month, mainly shower gel and shampoo, i was convinced that they are using far too much and will give the decanting thing a go.........lol doesn't help 16yr old DS seems to think piranhas lurk in the bottom of a shower gel container and refuses to use the last 1/2 inch and Lynx brings me out in a rash :rotfl:Every Penny's a prisoner :T0

I did think about that but my bathroom is quite modern looking. I am trying to persuade my OH to use them too and he's bound to be his fussy self, if they look new and lovely he's more likely to try it!Lynzie Lou :dance:0

I found a lovely 'modern' china set including a liquid soap dispenser, soap tray, lidded container and 2 beakers for £3 in one of my local charity shops.
Asda, Home Bargains and B & M also do plastic ones at quite cheap prices. However, I'm with the others that reuse their empty ones that originally had liquid soap in them. I refill mine with Tesco shower gel 10p 300ml and Tesco foam bath 19p 1L both mixed half and half with water. I use both for hand washing but the shower gel in the shower. A friend told me that having tried these on my recommendation he found that the foam bath made his daughter's skin quite dry.0 -

I use shampoo but not shower gel. We use the Asda SP showergel for handwashing at 8p and OH uses Lidls showergel in the shower also at 8p I think, really cheap anyway
haven't found a really cheap shampoo that we like yet0 -

Or could the kids (if you have) do it?
A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men
