I buy concentrated fabric conditioner and use less than half the recommended amount, dont notice any difference in my wash. The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0

Even better - use that hair conditioner you don't love anymore as fabric conditioner... or - white vinegar with some essential oil ;o)MFW #185

about a year ago my washer went a bit dodgy, the fabric softner wasnt going in, so for months i did without fab softner and too be honest you get used to it. i found that the clothes ironed ok and i didnt need it.
i must have saved a fortune not buying it. the only thing i like about fab softner is the smell. but i dont think its an essential for clothes.
love this thread, some great tips. xJust to win anything would be great!!0 -

I am sure the concentrated conditioner is not as concentrated or strong smelling as it used to be. I always buy concentrated conditioner and never water it down as I love the smell, but recently have noticed that there is not much of a smell like there used to be....... am now going to use white vinegar and essential oils, but not sure what the ratio is and how much to use? When you were born, you were crying and everyone around was smiling. Live your life so at the end, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying! :rotfl:0

Poundland have the stripey Aloe Vera loo roll now and again, a pound (obviously) for 4 rolls. Not sure if this has been mentioned yet.
Decant washing up liquid into a pump dispenser, you use much less and you only need a little anyway.
Glasses, as I've found kids will always go for the biggest glass in the cupboard (pint glass of orange juice with half of it left to rot in their room!), so I packed away the larger glasses and put out the smaller ones. It saves so much waste and when they pour a large glass they rarely finish whatever's in it!CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. Yes, I've done this too. The pint pots are in a separate cupboard near to the beer fridge.
If you can find out how to stop the bu@@ers leaving the glasses in their bedrooms I'd be grateful too!"Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"
