Yesterday, I washed out the main filter on my tumble drier so that it would work more efficiently - saved 15 m per load.

Mmmm I must find out how to do this. I really grudge putting the thing on. I did not have one when the kids were small and managed fine but my Dad insisted on buying us one. I must say I dont know where I would be without it now.

That's alot of cash... I am always too embarassed to pick up coppers! If it's 20 or 50p I might go for it...

I pick up the pennies but promptly give them away saying,

See a penny pick it up,
Hope that it will bring you luck!
Give it to a trusted friend,
Then your luck will never end.

I'm generally in a grumpy bus queue, so slim chance but will keep my eyes peeled!

    Well then they're idiots!
  • I always pick up pennies for "good luck" - silly reason, but I do. However, this week I found £10 on the pavement, then £1 on the floor at the station and 2 x 1p - so quids in for me this week!
  • In our family we give £1 presents at Christmas quite a lot of ingenuity has to be used finding an apt present in the pound shops or markets etc We are on the look out all year round.
  • Does anyone pick up pennies off the floor? I knew someone who did this religiously, and actually, she had pots and pots of pennies she'd found. Seemed to work well for her. I started doing it recently hehe

I remember many years ago as a young teen I stooped to pick up a penny and got laughed at by a group of people who were sat on a bench, they had superglued it to the path!! put me off a bit from picking up money ! However after reading about the couple who had found thousands over the years I found myself checking out the local supermarket car park!!:rotfl:

Oh dear, and me trying to avoid being near teenagers (having dealt with two of my own for so long hehe), from now on I shall have to hang out with the crowd :rotfl: it might be my new little earner project!

Jokes apart, I ALWAYS pick up pennies, on account of the fact that being snobbish about small gifts from the Universe will send out a signal "out there" that I do not want good things to come to me/that I am ungrateful. So I pick up pennies and give thanks when I do.

Has anyone read books about the law of attraction?
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

Caterina that is such a good way of looking at it! I always pick up pennies from the ground- if I find a 20p it makes my day! When I was a kid I went through a phase of finding notes on the floor:eek: . Always handed them in but never find them now.

No? Are there any you'd recommend? What's the theory? Am always worrying that my worrying brings bad karma!
