Sneaky ways to save the pennies

Candles - I always used a bit of normal cheap string for a wick, dipped in hot wax and left to cool, and use the wick holders from old tea lights that either I have used, or Ive got from someone elses empty tea lights! lol
I spent ages collecting wick holders a while back, and I have loads, plus a ball of tesco value string.
Penny saving - I save & wash fromage frais pots which the 3 kids have for school lunch/puddings, and after dinner I say 'do you want rice pudding or custard?' Whatever they decide, they get a fromage frais pot of their chosen desert - uses alot less than if it were in a bowl, they're used to the size of the pot, and the tin of custard/rice pudding lasts 3 or 4 days!! I drizzle the rice pud with that runny juice that forms in a pot of jam, it seems to come back every day.''A moment's thinking is an hour in words.'' -Thomas Hood0 -
Does anyone pick up pennies off the floor? I knew someone who did this religiously, and actually, she had pots and pots of pennies she'd found. Seemed to work well for her. I started doing it recently hehe''A moment's thinking is an hour in words.'' -Thomas Hood0

My dad always used to walk along the kerb looking down. He found loads of money doing that!
Also, when we used to go on holiday when I was a kid, dad would go down to the beach in the mornings with his metal detector and get our spending money for the day! He said beaches where there were deckchairs were the best ones because men would have loose change in their pockets which would fall out when sitting on the chairs.0 -

I find as a person who does drink but doesn't get drunk that there is always money around the bar in clubs and bars as people drop it, if I see who it is I will tell them but I am always finding a bit of cash. You need to be careful at parties though if there are party poppers, anyone seen that in Peter KayGod is good, all the time

This website is getting to me-
Yesterday, I washed out the main filter on my tumble drier so that it would work more efficiently - saved 15 m per load.
Also, mended one of my daughter's tops so that I could wear it around the house.
Today, I used vinegar as a softener for the first time.
Also, used a meringue recipe from another thread.
Thank you all very much0 -
On the very interesting 'Living without Money' Tonight programme they interviewed an elderly couple who have picked up pennies for 20-odd years and collected over £300,000 for charity! Apparantly had to use trollies to carry the money...0
