But it doesn't work! I looked earlier after I posted my last post. It said I could email them. which I have just done.;) Thanks for that tho. Are the 99p shops similar to Poundland? (full of lots of rubbish with a few bagains to be had)
Thanks for replying tho:rolleyes:0 -

Does anyone know where the nearest 99p shop to me would be? I live in York. I have never seen one in Yorkshire? Tho we do have GREAT Poundlands
there are only two in Yorkshire - Doncaster and Barnsley. Although judging by the number of empty shops at the moment in York I wouldn't be surprised if one sprung up! I don't think they have decided who is going into the old Boots store yet.MFW 2011 challenge - Aim: Overpay £414.26 a month/£5,000 a year. Don't know if this is the right place for these, but my current two favourite sneaky money-savers are:
Nescafe beans - bit of a limired choice, but some of the things like the pamper pack are being stored up for Christmas pressies. I have a load of colleagues donating their jars regularly, so collecting about 30 beans a month.
Soft drink cans - our local Tesco has one of the machines which gives green(ish) clubcard points for items recycled. Currently give two points per can, so I collect of my colleagues (again), who seem to drink a sickening number of cans each day and then cash them in. By saving up the cans, 100 dropped into the machine will translate into £8 of deals vouchers, given that 2 points x4 = 8p. So it's true, every little does help!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I've recently discovered a way of saving butter. We always have those 'dregs' in the corners of the butter tubs and those bits where the knife has been scraped on the side containing toast crumbs
I put the tubs in the microwave for about 10-15 seconds then pour the melted butter through a sieve into a clean tupperware box, it doesn't give you masses of butter but is useful to add to potatoes or a sandwich or something :j0 -

Another way is to make rock / raspberry buns.
When the tub is not quite empty add flour to the it and mix until the consistency of breadcrumbs. Add a tablespoon of flour and dried fruit if making rock buns. Add milk till you can handle the mixture and put lumps on a greased baking tray. Bake at reg 4 till brown.
For raspberry buns roll the lumps (without fruit) into a ball, put on greased tray and put a small hole in the top of each. Add raspberry jam to the hole and bake.
This is a trial and error recipe as you never know the amount of fat you are staring with!0 -
Exlibris...I had forgotten all about raspberry buns...haven't made them for about 40 years, made some rock buns recently, had forgotten how nice they are.

Add a handfill of "orange" lentils to any minced meat mixture; no-one will notice and you can double the quantity by doing this; spag bol, shepherds, lasange - the list is endless!
:T Thanks for that.
Dumb question but do you put the lentils in dry or pre-soak them or what, please????..

I normally just give them a good rinse under warm water then bung in and let them cook in the mince for about 40 minutes.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera.
