IF you have someone who is hooked on a certain brand wean them off it.

Coffee is really tricky. Cheap coffee can taste awful.

So don't bother. Keep a secret stash somewhere of home brand and when the jar is running about half way (so he won't notice) add in another brand and mix thoroughly.

You might not ever get him unhooked, but the coffee will go further. Unless he's got very sensitive taste buds, he won't notice a small amount of another coffee being added.
Thank you! What a great tip! I just have to find one that looks exactly the same :P Thanks again xxx

My daughter always comes out of school without her cardigans/pe kit etc and when told to bring them out the next day they have 'magically' disappeared. At the end of term if lost property isn't claimed its put out on a table for parents to help themselves, so i stock up on jumpers, cardi's, t shirts etc.

I also borrow my friends 10% discount card for Morrisons and do my shopping when she's at work

Rub essential oil onto the radiator, saves on air fresheners and lasts ages

good tip, particularly for heated radiators in bathrooms which can pong, but be a bit careful about very concentrated oil on the radiators, it may cause blistering of paintwork on over painted radiators.

another good tip is a small saucer of water or half filled ramekin and essential oils near a radiator; the smell wafts around for ages.
:o Keep trying.........................what else is there to do? :o

I've heard this one before but... WHERE on the radiator?

Keep any used car fresheners as well. make up your own solution of smell and soak the cardboardy car freshener for re use.

you can hang them in closets and wardrobes, vestibules, and keep odd ones in old suitcases that only see the light of day each year.

smelly trainers - if you have any charcoal, stuff an old sock with charcoal and stick it in the trainer each night. Free instant odor eaters!

I have been chuckling away at this thread - bloomin' brilliant!
Lovin' the loo roll trick am off to give mine a squeeze now.
I bought some cheapo toothpaste and hubby refused to use it - well we ran out of the good stuff and I have ahem accidentally forgotten to add it to the shopping list this week - you bet he is using it! God forbid he had to go and buy it himself! lol
I alway snip open tubes of moisturiser and use up the dregs.
I always buy birthday pressies of branded clothes for friends and family but get them from TX MAxx at a fraction of the original price. They love me as they think I spend a fortune but i don't.

I think my dd is growing up OS. On her desk is a tube of Carmex lipsalve...slit open so she can get her finger inside for the dregs!v She always rinses gel and face stuff out with water as well.

InStore/Poundstretcher do Nescafe - 200g jars for £1.99, and now also 100g jars for 99p.

i buy whole milk and when nobody is looking the milk gets a good glug of water from the tap to eek it out a little further. neither my son or my oh have twigged that i do this yet, i reckon this has saved me a small fortune over the years because both of them eat huge bowls of cereal everyday and sometimes they eat 2 bowls each, i certainly notice the difference doing my shopping monthly as i don`t buy nearly as much milk as i used to :j

I do this and have done for years but I have to be organised now he's semi retired and at home more often. He beat me to it last month by opening a new bottle. He said don't buy whole milk from ******'s again, it's thick and sludgy and not nice at all:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

i`d be tempted to confess your sins :rotfl: tell him you`ve been doing it for years and saving money and would he mind if you carried on as it hadn`t bothered him before as he preffered the taste.

Aqueous cream is great for everyone & is better than any branded moisturiser I have come accross.

All the light fittings in my house are multi - bulb lights. Yet they all only have 1 bulb in - saves loads of electric but the lights still look good!
