Have you tried speaking with your GP?
If you have, can you try seeing another one?
If the above fails you maybe best to present yourself to your local accident and emergency department who then after assesment will call upon an emergency on call CPN.
If you dont want to do any of the above then you may be best writing to your local NHS Trust with your concerns, it might help for someone to go with you to the doctors.
If you want in depth advice ring SANELINE:

http://www.sane.org.uk/

SANEline: 0845 767 8000 SANEmail: sanemail@sane.org.uk

I don't really have a GP anymore. I saw the same GP for about 6 months, and it was her who refered me the the CMHT for an assessment. An OT assessed me, and mentioned lots of things that would help me - referal for group therapy, to a local support group, a CPN, help with voluntary work and stuff. She got me one appointment with a voluntary work co-ordinator, but nothing else.

I see a different GP every time I go. I had an appointment on Wednesday, and she said I needed to be seen again urgently. Duty Pysch phoned, and I've got to wait till the 9th.

I don't want to go to A&E - although I have suicidal thoughts, I'm not a serious risk to myself - I don't want to act on my thoughts. I'm self-harming, but it is in a controlled way, and isn't a serious risk.

I might look into contacting SANEline.

I suppose a big problem is that I don't feel deserving of help and support, and don't want to burden charities when I'm a waste of space. They would be better helping other people.

My local NHS Trust - would that be my local PCT?

It sounds an awful bad way the NHS has left you down, this doesnt happen often but still shouldnt happen at all and doesnt help you.
If you ever feel so bad that you cant carry on anymore dont go with your thoughts, you can contact a out of hours doctor, a&e, or even come on here, just go to bed and sleep on any bad thoughts you get.
Can I just say you sound very open and honest with yourself, you want help and that shows alot, you can get though this, you have got this far it is possible to see this to the end and overcome your depression, and you can and will.

I sent an email to my local mind a few weeks ago, but never recieved a response :(

You guys know me well. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong? I probably don't want to hear it, but I need to know WHY I'm not getting any help. Am I not really ill?

You are ill as you feel, it is only you who knows how ill you are!
You are doing nothing wrong, it is the system that has/is failing you and the help and support you need.
Have you tried a herbal remedy?

Hi feelinggood. Sorry to hear you are feeling so bad and not getting the help you deserve.

Everywhere is different I guess, but my experience is you need to shout very loudly and become a total pain to get help you deserve. Can someone who knows you well go to your GP with you and tell them how worried they are about you? I know it's hard to be pushy when I'm down. Take care and feel free to pm me anytime also.

My husband went with me to a GP last week, and she got in touch with the Pysch. Unfortunately I he can't come with me to the Pysch appointment. I write everything down for Pysch, but she just doesn't do anything, or offer any advice.

Phoned SANEline, but it was engaged every time I tried. I couldn't find any information about PALS, so I phoned NHS Direct, and someone is going to call me back tomorrow to discussing maybe making a complaint against CMHT or something.

OH is home, but doesn't want to talk/help. Not sure what to do now.

Aww feelinggood, that's not so good. All your illnesses/conditions/disorders are deserving of help and support. If you're not getting that from your GP you really should get in touch with all the charities Night-owl mentioned, till someone gives you help and advice.

Charities are there to help and you are as deserving as anyone else.
